Update 19.08.2008.

Post by Platyna »

Loot stealing has been fixed. Now you have 5 minutes to pick up the item dropped by killed monster. Your ownership privilege depends on amount of damage you did.

Thanks goes to Fate who wrote a patch for eAthena code and made this possible to carry on.

Regards.

Would it be too much to request sainthood for the developers or the developer who came up with this? I think we all owe you a debt of thanks!

Don't stray items disappear long before the 5-minute timeout, such that even clearly abandoned items have no window to be picked up?

It makes no sense to have the protection timer exceed the item fade timer.

Thank you for reporting.

Although realized and worked on before even implementing this. Still this should be a slightly better situation than it was previously?
This message used to be meaningful.

I don't know how easy it would be to program this, but my idea was implementing a distance limit from the item. Should you walk away from it, it could be picked up by someone else, but only after the item's "owner" walked away. Of course it couldn't be too close, or you'd risk getting killed while trying to stay close to the item, just if it goes out of screen, for example. Also, if the item's "owner" dies, it should also be up for grabs.

Just an idea, i dont know how much sense this makes, but i hope it was helpful.

Regards and thanks for your time.

5 min is to much in my opinion 35 sec or so will be just enough
