How to use a patch on a mac?

I would like to use this equip1.patch.

(0000401: Allow to use shortcut bar for equipment swapping)

is it possible on a mac? if yes how?

what do I have to do u be able to see my gloves on my character?

It would be easier to just compile the 0.0.26 release (or the current development version). YOu can download the source for 0.0.26 from our Source Forge download page.
