According to Wikipedia bronze is in fact superior to iron in almost every application (but still inferior to steel). Quite interesting considering that almost all games treat bronze as a very low (if not the lowest) grade metal.
But in the case of TMW I would suggest to be a bit more creative and invent new kinds of fantasy metals instead of using real world ones. This also has the useful side effect that it avoids any complaints because of lacking realism for the sake of game balance or artistical freedom. I faintly remember that someone on the wiki once suggested to name metals and minerals after tmw contributors.
