Which we try to avoid (and never seek to do intentionally, unless a bug can only be reproduced on the live server, which has happened). Many of the crashes Platyna attributed to developers earlier in the thread are just bugs in eAthena (mostly to do with the increasing size of the player base, others because we're using features that we didn't before).

This topic went just bad. I posted it because I didn't wanted the community think that I have left and I don't care about anymore.

Bjorn said he will resign from server admin position and I will be able to do as I see fit. It is not acceptable for me, and on the long run it is not going to work. Also can't be the only server admin, and it wasn't my aim to shune him away and do what I want, my aim was so my opinions would count when to give people access levels to the EA.

Bjorn is a project admin, and he should have the highest rights in anything that is project's property and eathena instance is property of TMW.

Bjorn said that he will leave eathena to me and the "new" tmwserv wil be not hosted on my machine - well, it made me sad if he thinks I do demanded my opinions to matter because I am hosting EA. I never said my privileges here are in any way related to the hosting, Platinum exists for eleven years and always had the same policy - the accounts are property of particular users, and who has the accounts do not depends if my personal likings. If a person I dislike wants the account on the server and has a reason to have it - they will, and if a person I like will abuse the account he will loose it. In fact TMW was the only project hosted there I was involved in.

I always tried to be fair in my judgements, I think I am an observator that can learn from mistakes of other, similar projects I have seen and I wanted to use this experience here. I can be harsh and blatantly direct - especially when I am convinced that I am right and no one listens to me - well it is me, I was always like that and nothing changed.

Peavey, Crush and Jaxad thinks I was against them being GMs because of personal grudges, lack of trust etc. it is not true, and when I was passing harsh words towards them, it was judgement of their particular actions not their persons. I could tell them they are doing great work, I can also tell them they are doing wrong. I am not your mother or a teacher, to put bad things in nice words, in fact I never was good with it.

I wanted developers to have influence over the who is a GM, well they are building the game, and they should, I wanted new GMs to be suggested by them, discussed by them and voted by them, since no one will ever deny that developers are respectable members of this community. They shouldn't be GMs for themselves to ensure all of them will be peers and to ensure the partcular members of the project will have clearly defined responsibilities and therefore neutrality and coherence among the team, it is done like that in great and successful projects and it would work also here, but without Bjorn's consent and faith in this system, it is pointless to introduce it against his will.

Bjorn acted like a silly child for not listening to my arguments and being so stubborn, he has also shown me, deliberately or not (I believe not) disrespect, but honestly, I will not sell a friend, even at the price of my three years efforts.

I think the latest events have shown that Platyna and Bjørn just don't get along with each other. I don't want to blame anyone - they just have fundamentally different approaches to the same matters.

Avoiding any further conflicts by clearly separating responsibilities is the best solution for everyone in my opinion. Far better than burning more and more energy on useless wheel wars and the resulting flames.

And for clarification: I finished to argue, Bjorn said I was right (even if I don't underestand why he still, on a separate server wants to make developers GMs if he thinks it is wrong ;O), so I am fine with it. And it is not who is the server admin, and who is the admin of the box or whatever - I simply cannot participate in a project where developers are GMs and moderators and I can't participate in a project where I am making project's admin constantly unhappy. Period.

And about Adminka on the IRC channels - she is an AI bot, and she learns from chat on the channels and she generaly sits on all channels I was in, and she her config compiled in and AFAIK she is not connecting to the game server, however I have connected her several times to forums when I had not much time, hell, she was even answering people to PMs with particular content, and in future I wanted her to eg. change passwords for the people on ea.. so I wonder what my own rules I do break. If she bothers you then ban her and do not say slanderous things I am not following my own rules.

Well considering you call yourself a content developer, you yourself are a developer and therefore should not have ever had GM powers according to your own rules.

You have also repeatedly attacked people who have never had any power (myself included) just because we dont agree with your decisions (or in my case didn't agree with you attacking players).

Don't try to push all the blame onto others not understanding, the blame is solely your own not willing to listen to anyone.

He even said he don't cares if I do the wipe or not.

So eathena server was basically deserted land, I took into my care, so if someone now denies me the honourable right to agree or disagree who should have privileges on it, then it is not fair.

This is correct. After her many changes (I didn't like them, waste of time...) over a big period we went from 20 to 100 players online. So we can all agree that Platyna know what she is doing most of the time. Of course not all credit goes to her, but to all other developers, artists and other contributers - but don't forget the polish lady!

And I can totally understand her being cynical about new members who know the project for some weeks and want to change everything - and leave after some more weeks.

This project should be proud of longtime members and try to keep them - of course TMW needs new blood, but not for the highest price.

Most people in the debate don't seem to be talking of the same thing, essentially don't share a language or their entire framework of logic is just different.

To me the mess mostly seems to be a combination deriving from all this.

The conclusion was already made - Bjorn do not believes into the need to have a the rule that would prevent developers from gaining GM powers, so I have to go, since I think that rule should be a corner stone in the team and community developent.

The only thing that Bjon suggested is stay away from eathena and just postpone to the tmwserver (which he said he will make on a different host, since he do not wish me - probably so he could make developers GMs, to be involved). So, this discussion would come back after a year or two and I do not wish to go thru it again.

Voila, the whole conclusion, the case is basically closed, but if one wants to theoretically chat about it os has any doubts - it is fine for me.

I will not participate in any fork and I am not going to make one, I have put already much time in TMW, anyway there are people who are astonished in what happens since a few months here.

Anyway I wonder why several people are seeking evil in me, seek it in yourself. I could be outspoken and fiery, but speculating about stuff like "Bjorn, pack the TMW files because Platyna is pissed and therefore she will remove them" or "nice, she will do the fork and take all developers from us", or "she is demanding absolute power otherwise she will stop host the server', "she never listens to anyone (especially loved by person who never had any talk with me besides >>Hi<<)" etc. etc. nonsense. First measure yourself, then me.

Burn the witch! :P
