Female Sitting Sprite

Post by valus »

This one is taking a little time.

I'm not totally happy with this yet, but I'll show you what I've got. Maybe a few extra set of eyes will help.

Looks good so far. The problem is that tons of equipement sprites have to be redrawn for a new position. I think this sprite could be better used for a NPC.

So? We should fix these problems now, before we have too many other sprites to fix.

Please save it as a .png instead of a .gif, unless you want to show a animation ofcourse.

I'm still undecided about aspects of this sprite.

I'm asking myself, "Does the left arm look okay?" "Are the legs weird?" "Is the pose good?"

I'm going to take a short break from this one and come back to it.

I think I know what's bugging you. The arms are to short, (especially left) which suggest that her arm muscles are tightened, flexed. While on the other hand the position she's sitting in suggest she's just letting her arms hang next to her. So making the arms a bit longer might make you less undecided about it =)

ps: when you're stuck with something like this, you can always try to just go sit down in that position in front of a mirror, and compare.
In game characters: "5t3v3" and "L "

I would love to make her arms longer, but all the sprites have arms that stop at the waist. If I lengthen them I'm concerned the animations will start to look gonzo.

The joining of the legs to the torso looks strange.

[Edit]OK, rest of my post was bullshit[/Edit]

Here is the whole set.

It needs tweaks, I know.

Yay or nay?

at the side views, the way the feet is placed, it does not look relaxt to me.. more like she is hurting her foot. and there is something weird with her shoulder. I think the backview is good though.

Who decides what goes and what doesn't?

I will finish these sprites or change them if I get a green light.

If you guys don't like them I'll move on to something else.

The feet in the side views look strange, but otherwise it is fine.

Decisions are usually made based on the general consensus of the development team. The most influential people at the moment are Jaxad, Rotonen, Bjørn and me.
