Variety is always good, especially is it nice with a (slightly) different pose.

Client versions prior to 0.0.28 can't use more than 100 NPC views. 0.0.28(.1) can use about 952.

That just delays initial implementation.

True. And in reality, all monsters can also be used as NPC sprites, but the client will consider them monsters. At the moment, only standing frames work. I don't know if the 0.1 client can do this.
