[GIT] Docks
[GIT] Docks
I've modified and expanded the starter dock set from Aethyra and made some changes for it's use on the Tulimshar docks.
This is the the finished x1 set (though there might be adjustments still) Here's an example of some assembled tiles (with use of recolored barrel and crate from other sets) I'm also working on the x2 goodies to dress it up with: Rope, Fish Hooks, Boat ties, dock bumpers, etc. and will post those as soon as I have a good variety put together!
Edit: changed title from Tulimshar Docks, to just docks for now. 3/15/09

Re: [WIP] Tulimshar docks
The wood needs a bit more texture IMO
That pillar thing lacks depth. (It doesn't have a shadow, and isn't shaded.)

Re: [WIP] Tulimshar docks
Good work. I think the underwater bits should go deeper.
Retired from TMW; incomplete projects looking for a dev:

Then they wouldn't match the water's edge. I think having them fade out would work.octalot wrote:Good work. I think the underwater bits should go deeper.
Re: [WIP] Tulimshar docks
Perhaps for the legs, but this set has to match the look of Tulimshar, but if you have any better matching textures post them . I heard someone say "We really need a master textures sheet reference" on IRC, and I agree. The pillar now has a depth shadow, but as far as casted shadows, a separate shadows layer for this would need to be added anyhow, especially for the docs over water (and if someone animates the water tiles)EJlol wrote:The wood needs a bit more texture IMO

I've increased the length of the submerged sections and faded them out (I might want to readdress this with alpha opacity, if depending on how animated water tiles would look in behind it.jaxad0127 wrote:Then they wouldn't match the water's edge. BTW, I made the changes to this set on the first post to avoid confusion .
Re: [WIP] Tulimshar docks
Also, we're trying to standardize on 512 for the width of tilesets (max height 512 for x1 sets).
Re: [WIP] Tulimshar docks

Re: [WIP] Tulimshar docks
to give the tileset even more depth the / part of the should be a bit lighter. and the \ part should be a bit darker (because of the sun).
Also the spaces between horizontal beams should be smaller than the vertical beams (because of the camera angle).
It looks great so far.

Oh, come on. You have shown that you know how to use a graphics manipulation program. What's so hard about arranging the graphics you made in the same way as on the picture in the first post?Seradest wrote:Thanks but i dont make a titleset and i cant make a tilteset when anyone can make a titelset can he use my psd data in the second link
- former Manasource Programmer
- former TMW Pixel artist
- NOT a game master
Please do not send me any inquiries regarding player accounts on TMW.
You might have heard a certain rumor about me. This rumor is completely false. You might also have heard the other rumor about me. This rumor is 100% accurate.

Re: [WIP] Tulimshar docks
Just an idea: I tried decreasing the width of some of the boards, and I think that gives a slightly better 3D effect. The red line marks the width that has been decreased.
