[WIP] Concrete Sea Wall / Sewer Drain

Post by Fother »

This was separated from the Docks work in progress. This is a cement/concrete sea wall with sewer drainage that can be used as an entrance to the sewer set. There have been some questions about the drain -- I consider that piece finished, however if you would like to make changes to it or recreate it, please feel free to post your attempt here :D. This set isn't currently tied to a specific area, and might be used for the Port town or Trade city areas of Argaes, so as such, I'm leaving it open as WIP instead of FND until there's actual need, so any additions or improvement contribs can be made :D

It almost hurts me to see such beautiful tiles which are so inappropriate for a fantasy game like TMW.

When there would be a modern age or science fiction fork of TMW I would recommend these tiles immediately, but sadly I am afraid that this look does not really have a place in the world of TMW.

Well, add a bit of ornament to stuff and it passes on just fine.

The functionality (as in function over aesthetics) of it is what is making it modern.
This message used to be meaningful.

maybe instead of concrete (a poured material) you could use hewn stone like the roman aqueducts ...

Though I'd have to add wall corner overlays, horizontal surface tiles, and some accent overlays (vines, mold, missing bricks, holes in walls, oyster or barnacle caking). This portion is an outdoors set btw.

I think this would look great in Trade City. (Excellent tiles btw).

My advised is think about ancient cities, old lime stone, old marble they were not too perfect, more hand made, artistic, not sharped (factory made) bricks or shapes.

The Mayan made bricks so form fit that even today, you'd be hard pressed to fit a knife blade in between them.
