Re: npc jack Vs new jack
Not sure if I like it, and IMO there are other npc's that should be redone first

I like the new one; but the jeans don't look right to me -
There's a logging camp planned on the world map (2 or 3 maps south of Katze's Cave); having two lumberjack NPC sprites with different hair would be useful there.

Re: npc jack Vs new jack
Clothes: better.
Face: You made the chin look slimmer and thus less masculine.
Hair: so-so - a ponytail does not fit the character IMO
Axe: worse.
As Ejlol said, it would be more productive when you would create new versions of those NPC sprites which really need it. Or how about creating entirely new NPCs?

Re: npc jack Vs new jack
Awesome meway, i like the new one much better!
I liked the ponytail, I think it matches lumberjack, but yea, it made him look too youngish
2 criticism:
Original axe is more accurate in length, shape, size
His right arm is like Popeye's. maybe bring it back inward just before the axe handle

nice work meway
it helps if you draw the pole to visualise the correct perspective.
ps. this axe is not complete, but it does give you an idea

This is what a wood axe looks like

I think could be a nice idea to do animated NPCs for the outdoor areas.
Also add simple animations as eyes moving or slow interactions. As a small example:

You don't cut trees like that. But a animation would be great.

thank you very muchadamaix wrote:

although you did a good job on making this axe a 45 degree angle when a person holds an object only the flat surfaces of that object need to fit the 45 degree.

That is what a modern axe looks like. i think this game in a medieval fantasy setting, so the current style of medieval axes are appropriate.John P wrote:This is what a wood axe looks like
