I think a longer stem and a leaf help, and also not sticking to one color on the apple helps to add some texture. Here is a quick example.

Grant, if you don't want to do it, then fine, just say so.

This is getting a bit out of hand. I just wanted the shading on the apple fixed.

It's not that I didn't want to do it, it's that I got 20 comments for different things, and got sent back to square one.

What I'm really mad about is how Jaxad changed his mind, only after I gave up his goose chase.

Here is the final apple. It's going to look weird when an apple half the size of the player hits the floor. This apple fixes the perspective and lighting issues, and that's enough. If you don't like it, piss off.

And yes, I've posted this one before.

I agree, this is about the same size as the apple already in game. Plus its shading is fixed so its a improvement, so if noone is going to post one they think is better, Ill push this one.

Good enough.

I know that you are irritated about all the conflicting advice, and I apologize for my own share in it.

However, I still think that if the apple is green players will mistake it for other things. Red is standard apple color.

But you are the pixel artist, and I can't do better, so I guess I'll "piss off" like you said.

Thanks for the work.

Here is an idea maybe you should see how items actually look on a TMW map first

Len, the apple on your head is very nice! Nails it right there, awesome!

Lets see how head-apple looks with all the others.

I redid this image multiple times, and got told back to go to essentially square one with the shape, that I had been previously told was unacceptable, and now I'm getting more requests for different ways.

The fact of the matter is that I get this message loud and clear: "Give him the run around so he gets frustrated and gives up."

Yeah, you can send some other pixel monkey on a wild goose chase.
The trick is who to listen too. Some people know what they are talking about and others are just noise to be filtered out. A good way of determining who to listen to is if they have content in the game or not.

Notice his attitude changed quite quickly when I quit. :x
You've put enough concepts out that it's hard to keep track and refer to the right one.

Mine looks like a bloated tomato, but I had to try. I think Len's head apple is perfect though.

I linked directly to it, via my own art repository.

Are you telling me that you've been commenting on my art this whole time without even clicking the link? :x

The new one looks perfectly fine when placed on the map, it's better than the old one. And I wasn't going to comment, but most people seem to be nitpicking about so many things, but when it comes to color we can just make it dye-able and the problem is solved. Whether it has a leaf or not is unimportant, what shape of apple it is is unimportant; what is important is that it's perspective is right, and that it looks good on the map: and it does.

why? You don't want to share anything with TMW any longer since you made your fork?
