Does Linux version of tmw support joystick/gamepad?

Post by cancel »

I've tried recently calibrate my gamepad from the program but failed because button calibrate does nothing. So maybe tmw doesn't support gamepads

Joystick support is flaky. We really need to refine our support, all we support at the moment is movement. Attacking and picking up items is automated for you when using the joystick. Make sure you connect it before you start the game.

(I'm running Arch Linux and openSuse 11.1)

USB joystick works most of the time, and is silently ignored when it doesn't work.
Gameport joystick doesn't work at all.

Both work fine in other applications and games.

I gave up using USB joystick because I never know whether it's going to work.

With USB joysticks, you sometimes need to go in to the game's settings menu, disable the joystick, then reenable it.
