We can imagine many technical things, as long as we have the matching sprites ;)

I'll try a different approach at another ear. One that actually looks like it's been cut off and not a perfect shaped ear. That might do the trick.

Also as John P asked. Suggestions on how to add finishing touches to the eyeball.

Pardon me for stating the obvious but ...

They are skeletons, they drop bones, what else is there to drop? :P

I think 'bone shards' would be a better drop perhaps.Sorry, no pixel art here.

I’ve been scripting one NPC (Airlia) of these quests, so there’s progress on that front. How about the...

Undead-Only Drop Item?
  • Blood, mana-green and bottled
  • Blood, sample
  • Bone: Image
  • Bone meal: Image
  • Bone shard
  • Bottle, with poison: Image
  • Crystal
  • Ear: Image
  • Eye: Image Image
  • Flesh, a piece of
  • Hair patch
  • Nachos: Image
  • Skull: Image
  • Teeth
  • Toe
Those are the suggestions and pixelings I found in this thread. How about some more? Or, a decision from someone higher up?

Zombie blood sample. Could be a quest item which needs to be collected for an alchemist who researches the zombies.

A bone could be used as a skeleton key.

would be interesting to use the bones dropped in order to make zombie drop powder for magic purpose of curse, can be use also for bone knife to make it better or to build bones arrows ;)

Regards

following the idea

imagine the wombie drops like 10 different bones
- a combination of some of those bones makes the powder possible to get
- only some special ones can be used for some weapons made of bones arrows
- etc
and from time to time you get a skull crane
(see next idea posted)

If you create bone drops then create multiple body part drops. There would be arms, legs, torso or body and skull. The reason to have the individual parts is so that you can wear them like you would armor. Also to enter a certain area or the graveyard you would have to appear to look like a skeleton. Having to accumulate the multiple parts for a player to become a skeleton would mean that players would have to kill a lot of monsters that drop those bones.
Arm bones would replace gloves, legs would replace boots, body would replace the armor and the skull could be a mask.

Is your intention to implement this as equipment? This won't work. Equipment is drawn over the naked player sprites. You can add pixels, but you can't remove them like it would be necessary in this case.

I'd like to see a 'bone shard' rather than an entire bone. A graveyard can only house so many bones! It doesn't even need a particularly recognizable shape

I personally like 'bone powder' better than blood sample as magic ingredient

What I said earlier. Bone shards sounds like it should be a collectible item, heh.
