some old stuff
found some of my old items, plants, rocks etc. and though i'd share
http://bw.glwb.info/tiles/
they were meant for another project, and they're actually only upscaled 16x16 tiles, but for the time being they're better than nothing, right? i think the current maps could use a little diversity, they look really plain & boring (unfortunately most of my stuff isn't very desert-ish, except for the rocks)

Hey those tiles are wonderful, if we were still using 16x16 tiles I guess those would have been the best ones. I think we could rescale and use barrels and crates as well. About the trees well we can't use them in the desert but they could take place in future maps of other kingdoms since they're nearly perfect.
Ah what if we could have such a talented artist in our team...

yeah, i figured you'd like that unfortunately i have different priorities nowadays, that stuff dates back a few years, back when i had waaay to much spare time.
edit: btw, as the final graphical style seems not to be decided upon yet, why not stick to low res? i actually quit graal because they started using those ugly higher-res tiles (started out as a really cool zelda-style game, now it's just plain ugly). low-res graphics with high-res interface would mix quite well i think

nice. somehow reminds me of vash (from the anime "trigun"); will there also be a red trenchcoat available?
btw, i noticed all the blobs have a wrong animation frame (one of em hasnt been mirrored when facing right), gonna upload fixed ones to my webspace soon if you wanna replace them
edit: done. i also added blood/slime pools to the other monsters, as i had trouble telling if a scorpion is dead or not.

No offence, but do you have a private website or more work you could show to prove you're a trained artist? I mean the stuff you showed looks suspiciously good. (VERY good if they are really yours)
If you're looking for 3D FOSS games be sure to check out LucKey Productions on itch.io
i'm not actually trained, i just spent a lot of time on em back then. also, i lost most of the stuff (which is no big loss anyways. if you knew how much i suck at buildings, ground or anything that tiles, you would't even think of calling me an artist) so there's not really anything i could put on a website.
i can see what you're thinking, but stuff copied from someone wouldnt really help an open source project now would it?

Look buddy... if you're really this good at pixel-art you must have had some training, so you'd probably have some other projects you've worked with.ktm wrote:i'm not actually trained, i just spent a lot of time on em back then. also, i lost most of the stuff (which is no big loss anyways. if you knew how much i suck at buildings, ground or anything that tiles, you would't even think of calling me an artist) so there's not really anything i could put on a website.

Believe me, we've had more people posting ripped stuff here claiming it was theirs. As long as you can't prove those plants are yours I not buying it.
And pasting a slime patch (which I did) under some corpses doesn't prove it... I must admit it does looks nice though.

no offense taken. but, as stated in my 2nd post here, i don't have a lot of spare time for imagery nowadays, so i'm sorry but new stuff is pretty much a no-go. well, maybe an item or two, but no huge things. i might eventually take a stab at coding though (since that's what's soaking up my time now)
