The reason to have the individual parts is so that you can wear them like you would armor. Also to enter a certain area or the graveyard you would have to appear to look like a skeleton. Having to accumulate the multiple parts for a player to become a skeleton would mean that players would have to kill a lot of monsters that drop those bones.
Arm bones would replace gloves, legs would replace boots, body would replace the armor and the skull could be a mask.
Is your intention to implement this as equipment? This won't work. Equipment is drawn over the naked player sprites. You can add pixels, but you can't remove them like it would be necessary in this case.

what if there was a quest to build a skeleton of of (droped) bones...
/skull
/rib-cage, pelvis
/arms
/legs

once you collect them all ..put the (drop) skeleton together and lay to rest in a open (npc) grave ..

my 2 pennys
back to working on---> (crypt)then(player 1.5) and more. *been on hold do to my laptop being fix* any feel free to add/help. ill be up and working as soon as i can ...good luck to all.

Another idea that the bones could be used for is having mages create skeletons by using a magic spells. For a mage to create a skeleton they would need one of each bone.
I like your idea too skipy. If you had a grave digger near the open grave you start dialog with the grave digger and he tells you to find the missing body parts. Once you have all the body parts you return to the grave digger and he gives you a reward.

I propose instead of "Grand Dark Crystal" to call it "Very Dark Crystal" or perhaps "Jim Henson's Worst Film".

I like these though :D

Did you make them especially for the graveyard? I like the
Grand Dark Crystal Version A best.

However, the
hearts... somehow... look like strawberries :(
