[WIP] The Sick Tree - Skipy

I know, a lot of trees has been done for TMW, but we are in need of a new one "The Sick Tree",

Description :
1. May be a palm or any tropical tree is usable (belongs to an island)
2. The tree is invaded from the top by a parasite that cover all or partially the foliage
3. the tree is still alive
4. Palette is provided (check the draft) you can add a few more color but have to use most of the provided
5. Size : from 32x64 to max 128x256
5. All the rules for graphics on TMW apply
light from south west, view top 45o , file extension .png , include transparent channel
6. Only TMW developers will critique and help (any other post will be removed for order sake and avoid confusion)
7. Final date to post proposals Nov. 15

I made a quick draft to show you an idea, any contribution is accepted, please post here your graphics.

You can change pretty much everything this is just an example but doesn't represent the final shape or texture of the tree, that is completely up to you


Important : Only developers will be helping you with tips, critiques, tutorial as needed in order to improve your work (just for this thread please restrain yourself of critique if you are not a graphic developer) the idea is help aspirants, and identify possible contributors for the game.

In fact the tree will be used (totally or partially) on the game, so do your best .

Nice indeed, foliage looking good, remember the parasite has to be noticeable, very good start

um what can i install to do pixel art and is a sketch ok for know i mean i might not get it done today but hopefully within the week or so

I use Gimp. works fine for pixelart, http://www.gimp.org/ (they also mention paint.net but I've have never used it)
You can use Inkscape for vector graphics (lines and sketches), http://www.inkscape.org/

any decent graphic program with enough zoom can help you pixelart. Now the best the tool the easier the job.

please try not to use this thread for this questions, PM, IRC or another thread are better options.

BTW (if you want some original and menacing looking trees this is what grows mainly east of Poland around swamps and roads).

Try moving the leaves to the top, also remember you don't have to use my example to make your own, also you can modify the shape of the parasite, may be covering one or two of the leaves.

Lovely bubbles.
I'd mix the foliage also with some sick leaves.
