[wip] Rock varients per area's.

Post by meway »

AxlTrozz and I are currently in-charge of a sub cr1 project, but I think that many different area's require different types of objects.

I wanted to leave this open to anyone who wants to make there own rock here for the project. (this includes winner3 cause I don't mind showing someone new a few tricks especially when there willing to learn.)

Remember this is just for rocks anyone is welcome here.

I will post some examples and keep in mind they don't all have to be the same shape and are preferred not to be. also keep in mind this is not cr1 related.

please feel free to communicate and don't be afraid to tell me if my art looks like crap or needs work weather your a Dev or not your opinion counts to me and change is something I'm all about.

Edit: added transparency in two images.

EDIT: That was really rude and I felt bad as soon as I clicked POST. Sorry Meway.

I think the streaks through the first rock make it look... like some kinda rock with streaks in.

The second is oh-kay, but the snow doesn't work, I'm afraid.

The third looks pretty good, but needs AA around the edges, and the base is a little flat.

Also, rocks wouldn't really stick so far out of the ground; they should be sunk in more.

Also well done on on securing your position :D

well like I said it was an example image.

Also for starters if of them needs a-a they all do because there all the same shape on the edges.

The lined rock well yes I intended this look as it is presented to you from me.

All three of these rocks carry the same shading technique, same outline, but seem to be very different.

Things different are the color pallets and the texture not much difference when you look at it like that.

Edit: also these are more boulders than rocks sorry I figured you could tell by the not stuck so into the ground.

also with your edit: bla bla bla, I don't rape my refresh button so I did not even catch your apparent rudeness.

For your third rock, the snow top seems almost ghostly, this could be due to the background colour that is showing. This also got me thinking that with the snow covered area cut out it will make a nice half height rock which could provide another variation.
