I noticed it on http://portableapps.com and was happy about a game that didn't required too much especially hardware and webconection. So i tried it out and began to love it.

The developers did a great job so far.

Congratulations

I've been hanging out here for almost 1 year, I was also here off and on during 2008, but didn't register on the forums until February 2009.

In 2008 I had been reading a lot about the free software and open source world. I became a fan of old tales of hacklore, sympathizing for the little guys in the face of powerful corporate threats to programmer freedom, like the hoarding of standards essential to software interoperability.

There was a screenshot on a webpage somewhere... It showed Jack-Os being spawned in Hurnscald. I think that was the first time I had seen The Mana World. Later I played it on Ubuntu, then gNewSense and now Trisquel. I'm happy that it compiles without depending on any proprietary code.

I haven't fully learned how to program. I did some Python and C++. I tried guichan tutorials but couldn't compile them. I'd love to be able to program... but I'm a graphics drawing type. An "artist" in general because I also do sound. My first contribution to this project was sound effects for Fother's Zombie, which was pet-named "Rothead". I don't have the things I need to make quality sound effects, just a monochannel microphone and free/open software sound rendering tools. The Tritan race is another project I've picked out to do, but the playerset has to be completed, so I've been taking stabs at that, begging for mercy along the way. Please return, Fother.

*sigh* how I wish I could just do everything and be a big star. Humility is keeping me sane.
I charged into this project like Leeroy Jenkins assuming I could tackle tons of work. Reality has since kicked in.

I'm still interested in SFX work, but not ATM. Enjoy Fother's Zombie. (the SFX were updated via TMW Mantis to fix volume and pitch issues)

The Mana World was listed in the top 10 opensource projects(if I remember correctly), so I checked it out. It's awesome :D .
