[WIP] Village building (and more)

Post by IvanMorve »

Here is an idea for a new building:
Image
it's just a quick and dirty rough draw.

(almost) inspired by the beautiful Rila monastery (Bulgaria)

Its very grand. I like the blend of stone and wood. Can this building set the theme for the entire village?

The village is presumably doing well (through Academy support), but should two-story buildings be reserved for the church and the inn, or just for whatever?

(Sorry for content talk, I hoped it would help you define the building so to help shape it)

Each part is (hum, will be) removable, you can add or remove the columns, floors & others future details.

working on the ground, may I use this Irukard tile? http://forums.themanaworld.org/download ... hp?id=3960
trying different things like that:

Yes?

Maybe this ground tile will be also useful:

Idea of building is interesting, it remains me byzantine style which we pointed for academy interior. You need to work on on proper perspective. Now it looks too flat, especially in columns areas. Are your columns rounded at bottom and square at top? I think they shouldn't.

Columns are usually round and they have 3rd dimension.

here is the back wall (WIP):
Image
-ground color and wall color doesn't look good together
-this test is without light direction
-tileset (wall-bottom) will be completed with all the 90° angles

Any suggestion?

I think the ground tiles are too nice for this village. Save the prestige for Port City.

Awesome building angles by the way

Very positive. Keep in mind proper lighting of diagonal walls. Also texture on them should be a bit different (with sign of perspective).
