Big Tree

Post by Saphy »

Hi people,

Long time no see. I was away in from home for the last year, so I didn't have the resource to draw up more pixel arts. However, now that I am back, I see that a few of my plants are in used in the swamp area. They definitely need polish, some of the plants are blurred as if someone resized them, but when I compared it with my file, the size is that same. For example:

Is it blurred to make it fit the background more? If that's the case, I think we can do something better by for example, tuning the colour, or we can edit it manually.

I also noticed the big tree is added to the swamp. As have been discussed before, it does look strange without a top. So here I drafted a foliage for the tree:

We can make tree top 50% transparent, or only the leaves 50% transparent. But the trunk itself is quite big as well. So... any suggestion?

I believe they did that in an attempt to make it fit with the surrounding foliage (after butchering the forest set)

I don't think the two tile-sets merged well

I see. What about the big tree. Is it too big? Unlike the last tree I created, I fall back to drawing leaves one by one because my grandma said that previous the tree I made look more like fur ball on a stick then a tree.

I like the leaves of the big tree. I always thought it looked terrible without a top on it. :)

Agree with leaves... But the downiest part of tree was taken from the made tree...

Hi Saphy, nice to see you again.

I am not sure how the blurred ones got ingame. The unblurred look much better in my opinion. Can you please post the graphics without background so that we can replace them?

Sure. It is actually on my photobucket account (http://s143.photobucket.com/albums/r156/SnEptUne/), the colour may need some adjustment.

Since I don't see any complain, I will start working out the detail in the big tree.

Here's what the skeleton looks like:

Looks like the tree was ripped in half (the green leaves on the base should probably be removed or recolored to make them look dead)

Actually, it wasn't intended to be use in the game, but that's a good point. Too bad, I drew the leaves on the wrong layer and now it is hard to remove, but I can remove them.

Hi Saphy,

If you don't mind, I will probably use it in my tileset.
