Map-Server??

Post by --Joey-- »

So, Recently I've been making my own server. I have the char-server, and login-server files running and communicating. Either I can't download or I just don't have, the file map-server. When I run eathena.sh I get:

Code: Select all

User@User- Desktop:~/tmwserver/eathena$ ./eathena.sh
Starting eathena monitor...
./eathena.sh: fork: retry: Resource temporarily unavailable
./eathena.sh: fork: retry: Resource temporarily unavailable
./eathena.sh: fork: retry: Resource temporarily unavailable
./eathena.sh: fork: retry: Resource temporarily unavailable
./eathena.sh: fork: retry: Resource temporarily unavailable
Desktop:~/tmwserver/eathena$
And when I run Eathena-monitor, I get:

Code: Select all

User@User-Desktop:~/tmwserver/eathena$ ./eathena-monitor
ERROR: Config file doesn't exist ((null) and /home/User/tmwserver/conf/eathena-monitor.conf), using builtin defaults
Starting:
* interval: 5 s
* workdir: /home/User/tmwserver
* login_server: /home/User/tmwserver/login-server
* map_server: /home/User/tmwserver/map-server
* char_server: /home/User/tmwserver/char-server
User@User-Desktop:~/tmwserver/eathena$
What's That supposed to mean?

And while I can login, I can't see any maps, as I have no map-server file, so it says, no servers are available, so, is it possible to get that file (running Ubuntu 9.10), and if so, where from, (I have tried the default git files 10 times, and it doesn't work).

So, in short, can anyone help me get my server up and running?

Also I have tried running them separate, and this is what I get:
Ladmin:

Code: Select all

User@User-Desktop:~/tmwserver/eathena$ ./ladmin
---Start reading of Ladmin configuration file (conf/ladmin_athena.conf)
---Start reading of Ladmin configuration file (conf/ladmin_local.conf)
Login server IP address: 127.0.0.1 -> 127.0.0.1
---End reading of Ladmin configuration file.
---End reading of Ladmin configuration file.
EAthena login-server administration tool.
(for eAthena version 1.0.0.)
Ladmin is ready.

Attempt to connect to login-server...
Request about the MD5 key...
set eof :3
Impossible to have a connection with the login-server [127.0.0.1:6900] !
----End of Ladmin (normal end with closing of all files).

Make sure you have libz/zlib dev package, flex, and bison installed (maybe more; check the make output).

It was libz files; and now it is up and running, though I do have another problem: How do I enable magic??

What packages did you install? I have the same problem. It would help if everyone told what solved their problems. :D

As Jaxad already said, you will need the libz/zlib dev package, bison and flex. Just get them via a linux terminal, after that you can compile the servers (login, char, map) and you should be able to run them.

@jeg343
Run build-magic.sh two times. It is located in the /conf/ folder.

It might be a bit old or so but running
apt-get install libz doesn't grab any packages on Ubuntu 9.10 and the zlibz doesn't give any results either.

I am trying to make a step by step for folks like me who have had problems setting this up even years ago. *laughs* I come back and try every once in a while.

I'm sure it's something stupid that's missing, because the real Eathena svn compiles and runs without problems however the hacked up eathena for TMW from the git compiles fine but always gives the problem...

./eathena.sh: fork: retry: Resource temporarily unavailable

Very odd problem... I'd attempt to compile ManaServ but the instructions are... Spotty at best. :(

For Debian and derivatives, install the dev packages. Try zlib1g-dev.

You may post the output of your terminal, which appears while compiling/running the servers.
