Clans and clan chat

Post by Big Crunch »

It is my understanding that the new server will recognize clans. I think that the current server is limited in the fact that it has no clan/guild recognition. I think it is needed and would be welcomed along with a 'clan chat' tab. That way we could have numerous parties under the clan umbrella and the ability to chat amongst each other without having to use eleventy billion whispers. Opinions?

The current server has guilds, but the client doesn't support them. Work on supporting them is ongoing.

I'm very glad it is being developed. Even the simplest Guild system (that would allow more then 12 members) would be very appreciated i think. I do think guild systems are an essential part of massive multiplayer online games.

I can only confirm that clans work to 90% on manaserv.

Yet we are not on manaserv, what about 'tmw-ea'?

Indeed, I dont care about ManaServ, is there any work in progress for guilds on eAthena?

AFAIK the server has supported them since 2004 (unless someone broke it on the way). No one has bothered to support them client-sided so far.

Basic functions like chat, invite, kick, list , online/offline working, other not tested.
I working on inplementing this on manaplus.
Exist one security problem, but it may be fixed quickly on server side.

I'm very glad to see that guilds now work if you use manaplus (which, to be fair, is pretty common).

Something broke a few weeks ago, though. We can no longer add new chars to the guild. That is, we can invite, but they never see the chat tab. Of course I reinstalled the client, but the problem persists -- and it's not just me.

Was something changed on the server? Will the functionality be restored?

Yes devs corrupted this features for later fixing.
Will be restored but in unknown time.
Now working only old guilds.
