What else can we do?
We can't cure stupidity.
if you're ugly . . plastic surgery
if you're weak . . exercise
if you're bald . .wigs
if you have parasites . . prescription medication
if, however you're stupid . . . there's no pill you can take, there's no seminar, no training course, no amount of psychotherapy, no surgical procedure, no self help book . . . you're basically Duck from the get-go. you can't fix stupid.
edit- that's from Ron White's stand up routine btw. please don't sue me mr. white . . .

blue is actually one of the worst colors for important messages. Blue is relaxing. Red and yellow are more alert colors, that tend to get people's attention more.

This is why school buses are yellow.

Though I think red has been over used as a warning color and its effects are not as strong as it use to be. Maybe yellow would work better.

if you put a yellow sign I will ignore it because I can't see the damn thing. If you want to make the window for it black than I will support this color of font. Red is over used here so yes I ignore it.

Crush, I agree wholeheartedly with your desire and your frustration. Thank you for doing so much to help.

I work in computer security, and this has thus far been an intractable problem. People are fundamentally gullible*. Education is effective in reducing risky behavior, but only to a point. Add the fact that many players are not yet grown (with limited ability to assess risk) and we will forever be dealing with scams.

Perhaps all we can do is continue to post notices, occasionally broadcast warnings, and take parallel action to shut down sites as we learn of them. If there is a bright side to this, maybe victims of these scams learn an awful lesson and are more careful when it comes to things like finances.

*Don't jump on the "gullible people are stupid" bandwagon. Just don't. Almost all humans are gullible in some way, and there are whole areas of developmental psychology, social psychology, and game theory to analyze why.

As I said before, some of those scam sites run on 000, they seem to take complaints about this serious, so bringing pages offline within a day is possible I think.

Maybe the general problem is that most people trust computers too much. They believe that a machine is more trustworthy to keep their data confidential than a person. Most people would rather tell a machine a password than they would tell it a living person. The machine could be programmed to immediately reveal this information to a real person, but this doesn't occur to them.

In the same manner that it's easier to ask google to recommend you some kinky porn than it is to ask the clerk in a video rental store.

Or another example: When you pay with your EC card in a store, you usually type your banking pin into a machine. Imagine the clerk would ask you to tell him your pin directly instead, would you tell him? No? But how do you know that the machine you are typing into doesn't show him what you are typing? Because he got it from the bank you trust? Can you verify somehow that he got it from them and not from somewhere else?

The machine is suggesting trustworthiness which doesn't exist. When you trust a machine, you still have to trust a human - the human who build and set up the machine. And instead of the clerk standing in front of you, you can't even look that person in the eye to decide if you can trust him or not.

tl;dr: never trust a computer you haven't programmed yourself.

The OP tried to cheat. Therefore no sympathy should be given in any way. They should have their level reset too for trying to cheat.

It looks like the process in the image is an icepick lobotomy.
That procedure was performed on the mentally ill to "cure them".
By destroying the frontal lobes and/or their connection to the rest of the brain, they would change the person.

The frontal lobes are responsible for most logical thought.

Wouldn't that make them stupider?

But anyways. Dude, I'm sorry you lost your account.
But really. Taking that offer is like those emails I get from nigerian princes telling me about my American Express card.
