umm just a few ideas
How bout a dungeon to begin with... most games have atleast 1 dungeon.. before they open "for example the dungeon where u fight 2 werewolves in SoM?"
Also a few towns or just start out with 1... then along the lines, make it so that its like u gotta discover the land and it effects everyone else.. so if 1 person finds a new town, its added to the warp npcs/ect.

Also i found that Ultramichy had made a language choosing script... its not exactly the hardest to make, but it would be great if we included that in all the scripts to make the game a little more international
heres what i thought of, in RO theres a training ground where to choose your job right? how bout instead of choosing job you choose your language.... it MIGHT be hard but would be well worthit

My version of Skill tree
ok i was wondering about the Magic tree.... would it be good for the player to choose their type of Magic at the beginning of the game? like...

Gnome
Sylphid
Salamando
Lumina
Luna
Dryad
I was thinking if a character should choose which skill tree to follow.
as in if u pick Undine you first get CureWater then u get Magic, Freeze or something like that...may not be clear, but its just an idea :l

Storyline*possibly
The Mana Tree: Tree which roots hold the world together.
By a trip of events, A Dark Lord had cursed the Mana world by sacraficing himself to infest the world with Monsters unlike any others. By cursing the world of mana, he cursed the world to be seperated, to be split into many islands.
By Cursing the world, he destroyed the Mana Tree.

storyline for tmw i was so inspired to write something i just couldn't hold
myself back.
anyway, i know my english is not perfect and there may be many mistakes
but here is what i have so far. please bear with it and read it to the end.
comments are welcome and correct me where my english is incorrect, ok?
The Mana World
==============
Several milleniums ago the world trembled in fear of a dark force. The
people endured it several decades by barricading themselves in their
cities and villages. Scared by a breed of thousand of monsters they
led a life and learnt to accept their fate. Countless moons after the
last rise of the rebellion was knocked down a boy was born. Not knowing
he was going to play the most important role a man could ever play he
grew up in a small village playing with his friends, in the small world
they had left.
One day, at the age of 19 he was sitting nearby a waterfall along with
a couple of other boys from his village. They sat tattling about the
girls as if nothing could break their happiness. Suddenly he heard
the voice of the sword of mana which was tucked in a stone nearby. As
soon as he stopped talking, trying to listen closely... again the voice
spoke to him this time louder in combination with a bright flash of
light. The others ran away scared while he still sat just like he was
glued. Later he went to pick up the sword and was told that only he could
ever restore the sword's power in order to save the mana tree and so
the world. Not believing in his fate he returned to his village were he
was immediately called by the chief and banished from his village for
taking the sword of mana, which was - so the story goes - the last
know measure to stop the monsters from entering the village. A long
time passed an noone ever heard anything about him or his quests.
Soon after the war was over a rumor started about a young boy and his
companions fighting successfully against the dark forces and so saved the
mana tree. The story was told again an again and it grew into a legend...
A legend of which many parts have been forgotten...

well this is only the intro to a longer story i think. it should end shortly afterthe world was splitted like bear wrote. hmm... hope you like it.

I think it should be something like, everybody fights together to banish the monsters from the lands of mana. That way everyone has a reason to fight monsters

Yeah a common task filled with some quests, but also some growing world quests. Lets say theres a big evil person that is infesting the north lands. He can be beaten only by a lot of players fighting together and when they succed to win, the land comes back to his normality. And many other big quest influencing the world. A plague on the east lands caused by unknown, so everyone should investigate on that and after they will succed to solve the situation the world will change accordingly. In the spirit of Mana I think the best choice is that all good players work to keep the world safe especially the nature. Evil players obiouvsly will try to damage all they can. There should be also evil quest like if you do a list of things you succed to modify a part of the world... Just some brainstorm
uhmm... i don't understand why i have to says this again and again. this is just an intro to the actual story, not the story itself. i think it's not so bad if we have some similarities w/ som. if bear's story get's connected to mine then everythign will be alright i guess.
