There were multiple attempts to create a wikipedia page for tmw in the past. They were all deleted for being irrelevant.

But TVTropes is indeed a marketing tool which is completely untapped as of now. One of its principles is that nothing is irrelevant, and I already checked out a lot of tv shows, movies and games just because I read about them on tvtropes and were curious. Creating a work page (I believe there are several dozend tropes TMW qualifies for) and also creating the backlinks on the trope pages could really give us a lot of exposure.

Unfortunately I don't think there are so many tropers here. You can usually spot them easily in communities, because they won't stop using TVTropes vocabulary.
