It is certainly much easier with two people. That said, the other night I was partnering with a warrior who really couldn't handle one on his own, so I ended up fighting many of them solo.
I must retract my earlier statement, however: there are moments of boredom when fighting Yetis, even solo. However if you take your eyes off the screen for a split second, that's when the other Yeti will respawn on top of you.

Of the various builds I've used to solo against yetis, I've had the most success with a "tanked mage."
With 75 Vitality, 66 Luck*, 100 Intelligence, and a bit of Agility, Frost can run around using lightning to deal serious pain to yetis. Yetis have a talent for spawning on your head, so any character will be hit occasionally. This build can survive two hits in a row, and has enough Vit to heal quickly.
Whether mage, archer, or tank, I think the most efficient build will kill just quickly enough to keep up with the spawn rate in an area (in other words, don't waste time sitting when you could be fighting.) Any extra stat points could be used for defense, decreasing the use of healing items.
I'm useless as a Speed archer against more than one yeti, but I hadn't thought to try Mallet Eye. Thanks!
*These stats are really for the graveyard and Candor. According to mob_db.txt, Yetis have 32 Luck. I'll leave the "Yeti Cooker" build as an exercise for the reader.

As a speed archer using a concentration potion I notice i can freeze a yeti. So if you have another speed archer friend and enough concentration potions you can kill yetis until you run out of arrows.

I've solo'ed Cindy with this build a lot of times.
As an archer, with Mallard's Eye and an agility above 85, I can take on 2 yetis at a time easily. And I did this to level up from 75-85. Yes, I would die about twice per session but it was fun to handle. (This wasn't in the caves leading toward the Cindy quest, but the one in the opposite side)

In the opposite I think it is not hard enough to kill them because some warriors can do it alone. I do like the Idea that you need to have friends to help you to complete this quest. In fact I wish that it becomes impossible to do it if you have no help.

I don't think a person should be forced to get another to help him with Yeti's. Boredom is part of the game from the beginning. It's something we either get used to ... sitting long hours at the computer grinding away, first with mouboos, then on to other harder mobs ... or we leave. I think it's a great way to keep this game (and the server) from being overwhelmed with thousands of players. The players who stay end up knowing each other and it becomes more of a community, instead of a game to complete just to move on to another game.
And like the quest for 10 diseased hearts (which I haven't completed yet), I don't try hard to complete quests that take months of boring grinding or frustrated running around. If it takes 5 years to complete, then that's ok. I don't play anymore to complete every quest. In fact I hardly play at all anymore. But it's nice to come back and complete an event, like the Christmas quest, and maybe just play 1/2 hour or so every now and then, and then move on. There is no time limit to quests. Take 10 years to complete a hard one if you want. Don't let the game frustrate you - just let it go and realize that some quests are better off not playing. In a way, that's like life - we'll never be able to complete all that we would like to while we're alive. If we let that frustrate us, then we're not really living.
This is not a game to complete. Just get used to it.

I'm an archer, level 85 for now.
I'm focused on speed skill and my stats are : str 1, agi 102=99+3, vit 7, int 1, dex 98=95+3 and luck 2=1+1
I can kill yetis in wide caves, even without iron potions and concentration potions. More than two of them at the same moment it's really really difficult, almost impossible. But I can advice you to make them turn as mages make monsters turn in Candor.
I've to admit that's very difficult and you have to avoid keyboard errors because, as it has been said, as an archer you can't really be hit by yetis and avoid to die.
It's obviously easier with iron and concentration potions.
Anyway that's of course really hard and long. Maybe it's easier when you're focused on Mallard's eye.
Hope I helped

Thanks for sharing your experience! I find Mallard's Eye makes yetis much easier. You get longer range, but you also almost always hit, meaning that you can predict when the yeti will be stunned and time your movement accordingly.

oh yea yea yetis! they are my favorites! i like to kill yetis in company with my friend warrior. about a yeti per minute, 16-17k xp from each! this is the fastest and easiest way for a mage to grow up! i like the caves with 3 & 5 yetis on the way to cindy cave. i get 1 frozen tear from about 20-25 yetis.
