Moreover... only Christian/Catholic holidays are celebrated in tmw for some reason. I don't mind holidays, but from people who make "fantasy" game I'd expect more creativeness
Show us the code, and we'll consider it. We don't allow every user-suggested change, but you have a lot better chance for a temporary event than for something permanent.

---

The holidays that we make are the holidays that we observe. Since this is an international team, and international players, that set is intersected among us.
However, before my time there was something for Guy Fawkes Day, but that was probably tolerated for sheer awesomeness or something.

Only Christmas, Easter, and Halloween are fairly reliable. Christmas and Easter are nominally Christian holidays (though the historical accuracy of this is disputable), but have nothing to do with Christianity in practice. And Halloween is pagan.

---

Oh, and (thank God this went off-topic)... MrWho, stop being racist and stop abusing our GMs. There's no such this as roleplaying the latter - either you are or you aren't.

---

As for allowing recoloring the player's base sprite - this is now technically feasible, but there's a lot of work that would have to be put in it. Eathena's "job" or "class" system gives different bonuses for each one, and that would be far more racist.

Also, every character would have to be created with the default "class". This is a protocol and/or client limitation.

Please remember that TMW isn't even in beta, it's sheer coincidence that we have something that works as much as it does. (I'm not going to say "as well as it does")

yes, banningsomeone for an obviously racist name is totally abusive. I type this as I'm driving up to Canada to execute him for such an obvious and grievous lapse in judgement. I'm jacked up on Meth and mountain dew, so if I don't sleep then should make it about 3 days. Ill then mount his head on the hood of my car so everyone will know that justice has been metted out. Then ill in ban the alleged offensive account, give them lvl 99, all the rares, and convince platyna to give him SSH access to the server. Then we will use the power of the internet to force the world leaders to name him High Internet Priest of the Universe.

Sorry, I'm guilty of lurking and getting a lot of lolz out of this. Usually, I could care less what silly words a name has in it, but in the case of "little nigger", I don't see anyway in which that's not blatantly offensive. I can take a joke, even a "bad" joke, but signing in a name like that when I've just warned and banned someone for using that word repeatedly is just not smart unless you want something to happen lol.

Also, I imagine it would be silly for developers to make an event for a holiday if they don't celebrate it, and don't have proper knowledge of it. If people really wanted a quest for a non-christian related holiday, and at least did the concept work (maybe even scripting or pixelling a prize), I bet plenty would be willing to help - assuming another big holiday isn't already being worked on at the time.

I don't find that name offensive in any way and if I start to recall, another friend of mine was banned by a GM (not saying who) for a misspelled nickname. He also had left the game and promised he wouldn't play anymore.
His nickname shou7ld have been : "Count Dracula" and he forgot to spell the "o" so it was "Cute Kitten Dracula". He is a very big fan of Vampires and he was banned for no good reason.

We should have freedom in choosing our names.

I heard a similar story.
This person, he gathered money for a decent computer for five years, he was even selling all the furniture from his mother's house to earn some money, just because of stories about how fun the game is. He was eventually evicted, but during the cold nights he spend sleeping in a cardboard box near the dumpster the only thing that was keeping him alive was the warm thought about the game, where he would be not a homeless drunken bum, but just a one of players, or maybe even one of the best of players.
One day he did it: he had enough money to buy a computer, two computers, ten computers! He thought it will be the best day of his life.
But this story has a different ending: he achieved his dreams. It was the best day of his life.
Now he has the richest character in game, 100 alts, all dressed in the most expensive clothes, and he owns everyone in discussions in Hurnscald.
And it's just because he had luck and chosen a very cool name.

Playing TMW is not a right, it is a privilege, and you can lose that.

That said, there is too much drama in here recently. But where there are humans, there is drama. Oh well.

In this case there is no drama. There is only a troll inventing drama for fun.

I'm not inventing nothing, this actually happened and I wanted to discuss it with the community. I don't understand what the big deal is. That's the reason we have a forum, to talk and exchange opinions.

I don't understand why all my posts are considered trolling.

You are good at sticking to rule number 1 of trolling: "Never admit that you are a troll. You win, when they show anger. They win, when you show that you aren't serious."

Prsm I feel insulted of your childish accusations. He was visiting me in Romania with some friends of his. We are old friends and I actually have a picture of me and him after he got banned. I will post it to show you I speak the truth.
