Re: Interest Banking

I think interest Banking is not a big deal, everything have been said about that, I think. But the idea is to make money without fighting, I think.
But, I also think there should be an other way to make money than just killing monsters, cause of course, the weakest monsters give nothing that worths a warlord plate. I thougt about trading. In Suikoden Tierkreys, a NDS solo RPG, there was a way of making money by travelling : you bought something at low price in one town, then you just had to travel to sell it where it is needed.
The same system in TMW would just make the rich richer. The more money and power you have, the less you will have to travel to make a lot of benefits, and the travels would even be easier.
I thougt about a shop where the prices are changing every few months, which allows you to sell something for more than you bought it. But again, the more you can buy the more you will get everytime you will sell.
Limiting anything by level would be useless : you can have a low level rich, because you can always have more than one character.
Maybe, as for itens or antlers, heavy items could be a fair restriction. But, then, you have to sell them somewhere where you cannot access you storage, or it will be useless.
I tried buying things to other players to sell them for more, but it's just useless since, nobody will sell something if they know you will sell it for more, they just sell them directly to the clients.
I also tried to sell items for more when people need them, as arrows for 3 gp in gy, but people just don't even take a look at it, they just fight, and if they need arrows, they just die to go back to town. In candor they don't have time to buy anything.
I also think there should be a market, a place where you can speak about trading without distubing anyone, maybe send global anoncements in the trade channel to organise bids, and where you can sell or buy without beeing disturbed by the people around, who are just talking or doing nothing. The house behind Jack should do it, just add chairs, and a podium for the seller of the bids.
But then again, it's not a way to get money only by buying and selling...
What about crafting ? If some people can craft some things and others can craft other things, you can gain money by transforming things. Then again, it would disavantage newbies, the old players already have lots of characters, often highleveled, and it would be easy for them to have one character of each type to craft everything by themself.
I really don't know what to propose then, but I really think there should be ways to get money by thinking instead of getting it by fighting.
