+1 you are in good way, the lighter lines will help the image

I cant seem to find a way that makes it look better. I have looked at lens rocks but I really don't know how I would go about doing the highlights for this rock.

I was messing with different textures and that line thing you asked for. I was not going to post them but ah what the hell might as well.
