We hereby release our prices:

Every mortal below level 40 can come in the cave for free. From level 40 we will ask for 100gp / level for 1 day. That x5 for 1 week, and x15 for permanent protection. For example a level 55 will have to pay 5500 gp to enter for a day, pay us 27500 for 1 week, or pay us 82500 gp for permanent protection. Mortals that do not pay the price, will face Death!

*there will be a small drop party reachable to those that have payed the toll*

it should be noted that by locking in a low rate early, you can save up to 73% for lifetime protection. also: instigating fights or harassing other customers will result in an instant loss of protection.

If the devs don't stop this, I don't know who to go to...I might just quit. If the devs want to have fun watching all-powerful mages destroy everyone else who isn't even ready for them, go pay them to sit in the arena instead of the mine. Or maybe make everyone as powerful as them if you want REAL entertainment. They are keeping everyone out of the mine, including people who just want to collect coal or terranite ore. That is completely unfair, because collecting the terranite ore and coal is hard enough already, without having to pay some jerks to get into the cave. I hope somebody gets some sense and stops this.
I have to agree with you. This is total B.S. and detrimental to the game. You are ultimately just going alienate many players who may just quit. That's no way to grow a community.

There is an empty cave complex far up north that could be for PVP..No Monsters, just an empty cave. No assets, and just perfect for those that wish to kill each other.

If I want this stupid attitude, I can go downtown and watch the no-hope gangbangers hang around on streetcorners. Guess where I don't spend my free time.

At least real-life gangs run real risks in their race to the bottom of humanity. They have balls; that's more than your crew of wannabe thugs can claim.

I'm not surprised that some people in this game have sociopathic tendencies. I am surprised to see people I respected like Mistakes and Relm acting in such a way.

This is a MMORPG, and RPG means Role-Playing. So while you might disagree with their tactics please remember it is just a game. And does not necessarily reflect the person who plays the character.

Saying people who play aggressively are cowards because they won't do it in real life. Is like saying Arnold Schwarzenegger is a lair because he is not really a robot.

Honestly, its people like you who judge people in real life based on how they play a game that scare me the most.

Also about the comment about gangbangers and risk and such. I would much rather have someone play the game the way Mistakes and his gang does then actually join a gang. In fact if we could focus more people's real life violence into outlets like video games, I think the world would be a better place.

When a gang of level 90+ characters beats up passing level 50-ish chars for their lunch money, I call that cowardice, not "aggressive." When I play aggressively, I choose tougher odds.

I distinguish between an actor following a script and an online bully. I judge people by how they act towards others, whether that's in person, over the phone, on MySpace, or in an online game. It's good that you haven't found anything more scary than that.

Fair point about the real-life gangs, though. My comment really was over the top. Of course I'd rather people act out their bully fantasies in on online game than with a knife on a real person.

I'm only level sixty-seven and I attack 80+ characters when they come in. Am I a coward?

Hm, no, but I'm not brave either. I do it because I believe that, rather than Pleasant Company giving up and letting people come inside as they please, people should retaliate!

Say everyone in Hurnscald currently went to our Terranite Cave. And we attacked each other, had a battle. Who do you think is going to win? Seriously?

While I believe the cave should stay PvP, I think that either a few more entrances should be added or, on entry, you should be randomly warped to somewhere in the cave. You may end up on a spider nest, but it's better than slaughtered as soon as you enter the cave. The arena in Tulimshar randomly warps people inside to avoid this, and the only reason you go there is for PvP. If you're just trying to do a quest, you don't want to be killed straight away, without a chance to avoid it.

I have been giving this some thought,I like the idea you have allowed the lower players to go in.
That would have to be much of my objection at the beginning. I am lvl 85,and the game has become for me nothing more than working for a 99 lvl. I think this may evolve into a positive move, if it is not just about a power play. The new players need access, while for me it was mostly just bothersome. I tend to try and help newer players,BUT I understand that to much help dosen't allow the players to actully get that feeling of personal accomplishment when they finish a quest. I am willing to be the answer person as far as explaining the different aspects of the different quests. From time to time I give objects, but if a player does the begging thing(outright demanding at times) I will ignore them. I see this in the game as a positive
change if it is less about power, and more about bringing the game to a higher level of enjoyment for all players.

Rock on.
