Maybe if you're a developer! If you're a player you want cool features! 8)
Even from a player's point of view, memory leaks are bad! Team developers!

It's not likely to happen on a general basis.

However, it *is* theoretically possible for NPCs to move and participate in combat - and you could write a "pet" as an NPC. This would likely only have effect for a single isolated quest, though.

And there's a lot of work before this is possible anyway.

I think it would have been nice to have pets just like on the German server if they can have pets why can't we ?

Because pets should do more than just being equipment.

I like this idea :mrgreen: Because you want to improve the pet system instead of just telling people that there can't be one or isn't gonna be one and make the pets useful in the game .

Only read the first message :oops:

The mascots in tmw began in tmw-br
and so there were to other servers.
I have no idea how to make the mascot ally their level.

Code: Select all

{ bonus bAtk, BaseLevel/2+1; bonus bMaxHP, BaseLevel*2; bonus bMaxSP, BaseLevel; }
thus the bonus mascot comes in line with the level of character.
I do not know how to make pets of animals remaining in the soil. As they traverse stones

Pretty cool. . . does this mean we'll need to have as a drop item a pooper scooper, to clean up the crap? Or is there a designated crap cleaner? Sorry, I love the idea, but at the same time, there are so many angles that it's quite funny too. Feeding, pissing on trees, biting people, eating the squirrels and getting Sagatha mad. How cool!!

For the record, Ali-G, your artwork is great mate. It'd be excellent to see if it happens, and good work for getting it past the words and into the pictures.

I'm getting rude but in terms of pixel art, nearly anything is better than TMW art. That means my art is also very bad but is a bit an improvement for TMW. If you want to see great pixel art, check out the Evol Online project or the Frogatto & Friends game.

Best regards,
Alige

You can't compare Frogatto and Evol Online: they are not playing in the same league :)

Many graphics Evol uses were originally made for TMW but were never used.

TMW had some pretty skilled artists in the past, like for example Modanung, Irukard, Saphy, Fother J or Len. Unfortunately they aren't here anymore. The current generation of artists still has to grow to their level.

You're partially wrong, many graphics from Evol weren't originally made for TMW. Only few graphics has been altered. (ie: Crush's woodland indoor, FotherJ's WIP tilesets...)
But for the rest, artists such as Len and IvanMorve decided to contribute to Evol Online, and then share their work with TMW.

And Evol Online is just a tiny project right now. It can't compare to anything such as TMW. :lol:
</offtopic>

I got some though to add an equipment based pets system in Evol, if we can't find any other way to add pets in game...

But in any case it will work as in TMW-Br. Their pets are static, and only walking aside the player. Why not creating tinier pets (as Sparx in Spyro, or Navi in Zelda) with a funny animation and which would only fly above the player?
A pet is not forced to attack enemy, no?

indeed in TMW-Br pets are just side character.
And there's a fairy in frescurinha when the player attacks a ball of energy forms in front of the fairy and she moves her arms to give printout attack.

I still think it is something to look at for the main server...

I think there's already enough accessories and not enough real RPG.
