What I meant by selling rares was mostly Jeans I never really had a lot of hats or things of that sort. I have earned more than 500k just selling drops and using the scythe instead of arrows. If an item wipe is done then we will lose all of the rares in existance until the events are hosted again.
However, I like the idea of golden plate mail.

Here it is Crush, Gold Plate mail. See any room for improvements? maybe a little brighter or less shadowing?

I like the tax idea that was posted. How about 10% of your money will disappear every end of the week. this way spreading your money over different accounts won't change a lot. It might take a couple of weeks before we see the effects though, but I think in the long run it'd be a lot more effective.

Thanks for the work, Landon, but I am afraid you wasted your time. The golden platemail is already on SVN. It uses the graphics of the normal platemail but recolors them using the dye system.

Hmmm... the golden platemail maybe?
I'm still curious why the GP rollback is preferred over sinks like this that would drain the economy further. Certainly, it's simpler and goes a bit better with the gameplay mechanics rebalancing.
However, I think the amount of GP a player can get from selling to NPCs is being grossly underestimated. I know more than a few players, myself included, who have made upwards of 500k
strictly from selling drops to NPCs, and at least one of them made more than 1 million GP. This multiplied with a growing playerbase means the economy
will get inflated again, albeit more slowly without exploits.
Money-sinks like this could be implemented from time to time and check that inflation. Of course, I suppose you could just keep rolling back people's GP, but I can assure you your players will get tired of that.

Why you are repeating one thing in a every thread about the wipe? It is almost spam.

Yeah...

I think there is no other option since tmw is hosted on Platyna's server :P

In stead of repeating what I wrote on Platyna's thread I will say this, because the current server had all these bugs and did not have all the options you were looking for you deiced to create a new server correct? Peavey has fixed the money Bug and has "stemmed the tide" as it were for now. The damage was done. So should we not be bring our focus back to getting the new server going instead of spending so much time and thought trying to rescue this one anymore? I like the idea of creating a proper economy for the game but that can go into the new server. I feel like this conversion has been done a long time ago and we are just beating a dead horse here.

I don't know, maybe because it is a smarter solution, it has the most votes, and yet no one
responds to it. I am not alone in thinking this, I just happen to be the only one who has the guts to vocally fight for it. And certainly, as soon as anyone gives me good reasons why a rollback is
so much better, I'll drop it! That isn't fair either, read the whole post before you flame me.

Last I heard, there was more than one GM.

GM rights has Elven, Bjorn and me, anyway that remark about who is hosting the server was unnecessary, in this case it doesn't matter who is hosting the server, however, I am a server content developer, AFAIR.

As we are facing a total wipe when we move to the TMWserver, I think now is the time to be experimenting with different money sinks, whether they be special quests or some form of taxation.
As an emergency measure I think Levels and money in user accounts could be adjusted, but I don't think this offers more than a band aid to the economic problems, and its application will be seen as unfair by some players.
