well, it is a decent idea to make money off advertising (maybe not the plynpom enlargment pills though). the question is whether players want to support the mana world by allowing this sort of a thing (which shouldn't be a problem since major open source projects like tmw have a dedicated supporter base) or if there should be an option as to whether or not you would like to see google ads on your screen etc.

A definite and strong negative answer for advertising.

Well, it all depends. See, I am mods on many gfx/tech forums which would be struggling to survive were the owners not putting in heaps of their own money. On one, a member answered the issue with one suggestion - google ads. Google ads would have worked perfectly since the php-nuke theme in use had an in-built spot for ads, and allowed HTML, plus there was a massive rally behind getting these ads up with pledges of support in the form of ad-clicks coming from members we didn't even know we had. So it all comes down to whether or not people want to support the game (which, as mentioned earlier, won't be a problem for tmw), and if so, how.

We still need money, but advertising is not an option yet, we only need to survive no need to become rich. The only payment we have is the domain (about this topic we have to renew it these days ). So donations are welcome, but it will stay the only way for tmw to get money.

What about members helping advertise tmw in their local community?

The best help would be spreading tmw, so if you want to place our banners or talk about tmw in your community feel free to do so. If you get some money feel free to donate something to us.
