i came here through my exchange student from swiss he showed it me and we made our first event together the bunny ears event (easter a long time ago ) unfortunately i thought i wouldn't play for long so thats how i choose my username

I was just sitting in the sofa watching TV with the laptop on my lap, browsing for mmorpgs that would work with Linux.

The search engine: DuckDuckGo suggested that I should try The Mana World..

I installed it, played it and really liked it

I'm very fond of rpg actually and while i was looking for mmorpg the mana world came across.. I've tried and loved it..

I came here by clicking on the manaplus icon. . . I don't know how the rest of you got here.

Long time ago i was looking for USB software (XPWin) and i found portableapps and i see games :O "The Mana World Portable"
and i was lost

Played around in the ubuntu softwarecenter and found the client. After some googling for screenshots i felt nostalgic over the 2d graphics. So that is how i found TMW.

I came here from an ad on http://opengameart.org/content/les-forg ... art-course. Which I found by googling for pixel art tutorials.

I have tired of playing the same and same scenario commercial mmorpgs (and available for me legal animes), where you always have to be a fighter, otherwise, it get's too boring from what a peaceful anime/game could offer or it is of a "joke" style which I am absolutely not accepting.
I felt myself a winner and was seeking for a prize. As none seemed to be available, I've decided creating my own.
Searched Google for "open source games" and found OpenGameArt.org.
One of the most attractive contributions where for this game!
Some time later I've decided to play it.
I was not really expecting to see this kind of level of completeness, beauty and playability!
Even if it's still mostly about fighting the awesome wild nature like sceneries, music and community makes it my favorite and able to play game! I felt very pity that MapleStory is not available in Linux. Now that bad feelings are in history.
And the main "holder" for me, is, of course, that you can change inside of the game to absolutely anything that you'd need having it's source codes open!

PS. Seems like this game should really be listed at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_op ... ideo_games at least (if not having it's own Wikipedia page on various languages..).

AHAH! well my windows pc was bugged to the bones, i switched to linux and in their program manager i looked for an rpg game and found mana! and....here i am

but i remember at first looking at screenshots and thinking "ermm....probably not my type of game" i was soooooooooooo wrongXD
