Regardless, Mistakes was around for a long time, and everyone knew that I'm good friends with him. This didn't make you vote no before apparently, so why is it that you have some bad encounter with him (I would hope something triggered this, at least) and immediately change your mind about me? I am not Mistakes, and while I share a lot of his opinions, that does not mean anyone would be at a disadvantage if anything happened in front of me. If you had recently decided this was an issue, you could have brought it up to me in game first, but you chose to say it here, where it will influence more votes. If anything, judge me on what *I* do, not what my friends do. I'm allowed to have fun in the game, even if it's with friends, and my kind of fun usually doesn't end in screams of "ABUSE!".

After talking to you, it seems I got more trust in you. I'll think, later, if it is a good thing that you become a GM or not. In the mean time, good luck.

Best regards,
Ali-G

Thanks :P If anyone else shares these concerns (and apparently at least 2-3 of you do) why don't you contact me in game as well? Things can come off more heated up on here than they are intended, and there are always people ready to jump in and say their opinions, and this makes things more aggressive than they need to be. I don't dislike people for voting no, I just think they should have a solid reason, one way or another. For the record, Mistakes is his own person, and if he chooses to break the rules in my presence he will be appropriately punished, as he should know better. I do not choose to follow him in his actions, or his personal issues with other players, and in fact I've even told him when I thought he was wrong - you can ask him that if you want verification. I only ask that you get the whole story before you make a choice based off of someone else's opinions, because there are many sides to the same story in my experience.

Allow me to point out something. I would never allow a fellow GM to ignore someone merely because of a friendship. I myself am friends with mistakes, who i have banned before. I was also friends with thebev who i banned at least twice.

Ali-G, I can assure you that any behavior like that would be noticed by us and corrected.

Even if mistakes does troll what does that have to do with mrgrey? lol if this was mistake's poll then hay shoot away about mistake's behavior, But this is about mrgrey and mrgrey's attitude only.

I completely agree with Chicka about this. The idea is to see if a person can be a GM not if his friends are trolls. I think there will be no more players around if we remove all trolls or friends of trolls in this game. So no matter if you vote yes or no in this particular poll the idea is to evaluate a player and see if he fit the GM idea you have, and not the behavior of their friends.

If you stop trolling, my friend, I will hit you really hard. Every game has his trolls, Matt in the forums and you ingame. Until that become a banneable offense I will enjoy you and ignore your trolling.

As others have said, Mistakes and mrgrey are not the same person... Besides Mistakes is friends with all sorts of people in the game, and being friends with him, does not make them all trolls. Besides everyone enjoys trolling every once in a while. So again, mrgrey for GM!!!

1. What is the best way to help a new player who just started playing the game in your opinion (when you are not a game master but just a normal player)? Assuming they speak english, I'd direct them to the beginner quests in Tulimshar, answer any questions about the rules they might have, explain basic game functions (such as how to whisper, trade, etc). If they speak another language I'd either ask a player who speaks their language to help in the same way I would, or if none were around, hope Google Translate gets the message across well enough.
2. When you would have the ability to spawn items using a GM command, who would get what from you? That would not happen from becoming a GM, but theoretically if that command were available to me, it would probably die of neglect.
3. You are a GM, get online and immediately receive reports about these behaviors by different players about different players. Please order them by your priority in dealing with them:
-advertisement for other servers
-botting
-insults
-not speaking english in public
-scamming
-spamming

-Botting: I don't really care about people using automation, but it's unfair to other players who actively spend their time grinding monsters, when a player is away from their keyboard getting all the same exp/items as the player actually working at it.
-Insults: Players sitting around town insulting each other just makes it a less enjoyable environment for other players. I'm not very strict about it, but calling people offensive names and harassing them should at least end in a warning to the offender/s. Of course, to be fair, I wouldn't come and warn someone just because somebody tells me they were called a name - I would go to where they were (probably invisible) and see for myself.
-Not speaking english in public: I consider spamming to be worse than this, simply because spamming is an annoying behavior while speaking another language is simply a matter of heritage. Still, I would probably respond to this first because if the non-english-speaking player gets no responses, they might repeat themselves until they get autobanned for spam. If the player is reminded of the rules in their language, and refuses to comply, then the usual action would be taken (warning, etc).
-Spamming: Though some spam will happen unintentionally here and there, continuously doing so with no regard for other players is inconsiderate. I only placed this below "not speaking english in public" because in some cases, the autoban for spam will take effect on it's own.
-Scamming: This isn't against the rules, so aside from warning players to watch their trade windows, there's not much that can be done about it. If someone is trying to scam people with websites that ask for your password, that's somewhat different.
-Advertisement for other servers: This is not against the rules at all, unless the player in question spams about it, in which case they might get warned for spam.

4. A player disagrees with your decisions and starts to insult you in public. How would you react?
If the player makes a valid point, I might ask the other GMs their opinion, though I'd still warn the player for insulting regardless. I'd also suggest that if they believe I'm not doing my duties as a GM, or am abusing the privilege, that they post a complaint in the Court House (Abuse Forum). If, however, they are just angry and directing it at me, I will warn them appropriately before taking action.

Thank you again, everyone who voted for me, some even more than once in the 3 polls I've had on here lol. And thanks to those who voiced negative reasons, knowing people don't always react too kindly to those.

Can this be locked now that it's reached 60+ yes votes, please? :D
