Dyeing would be better for sureDr Wahl wrote:with all the different colors of sweater we have now, is there going to be an NPC that dyes your sweater a different color, or are each color of the sweaters going to be seperate items?

It is planned to recolor sprites dynamically one day, but it isn't as easy as one might think, because the recoloring has to be implemented differently for openGL and software mode.yosuhara wrote:Dyeing would be better for sureDr Wahl wrote:with all the different colors of sweater we have now, is there going to be an NPC that dyes your sweater a different color, or are each color of the sweaters going to be seperate items?
But i don't know if it's already done in coding...

How many just making several png file for each colourable items? Instead of using software to recolour, the program can just load different pngs.Crush wrote:It is planned to recolor sprites dynamically one day, but it isn't as easy as one might think, because the recoloring has to be implemented differently for openGL and software mode.
We already decided to recolor grayscaled items dynamically. This option give us more flexibility than making many recolored pngs. If u want make for example 256 (or even more: 512, 1024, 2048) color versions of each equipable item, just go ahed, but imo it doesnt make any sense.Saphy wrote:How many just making several png file for each colourable items?
