5.1+1x2+2 is not a valid expression.
Firstly, yes, it is. There is no need to enclose the 1*2 in parantheses because multiplication takes higher precedence than addition. It is true 5.1 + (1*2) + 2 would be clearer but the parantheses would not be needed.
Secondly, it was a
equation he included in his first post, not an
expression
5.1+1 x 2+2=?
Notice the '='?
reread the thread and try again.
the 5.1 could either mean question 5. and a natural number 1
or it could mean 5.1 as the natural number 5 and rational number .1 or 1/10th.
Which means the
expression in the equation of 5.1 or 1 is invalid.
The only way to solve this problem is too enclosed the two systems to include a "rational" number and "imaginary" number.
This can be expressed by a complex number where real part can be expressed by zero.
And yes she noticed the = but could not closed the system because of the invalid expression in the equation.

1: How do you spell Pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis?
Pneu-mono-ultra-microscopic-silico-volcanoniosis..
Sounds like a germ that infects volcanoes.
2: What is Pi squared?
3.14 ** 3.14 = (3*3*3) + (0.14*0.14*0.14) = 27.002744?
3: What is the square route of Pi squared?
4: What is the first thing you think of when you hear 'Twilight'?
a bit of a delay before I think it's dusk or dawn light.
5: Who was the main character of the TV series 'Minority Report'?
Never seen that series.
6: Who is Andrew Jackson?
The president on the $20 bill. He brought about "Jacksonian Democracy", whatever that is, probably a federalist. Maybe he'd be considered left-leaning by todays stereotypes.

You forgot the second c in the volcanoconiosis part.

Pi is more than just 3.14, I usually say pi as 3.14159265.
FYI you cubed it.
bcs86 wrote:3: What is the square route of Pi squared?
Dude...
The square route of pi squared is 3.14159265 aka. pi!!!
bcs86 wrote:4: What is the first thing you think of when you hear 'Twilight'?

By Twilight I meant that horrible excuse for a book/movie series aka. Stephanie Meyers Sex fantasy.
bcs86 wrote:5: Who was the main character of the TV series 'Minority Report'?

It was a movie, not a TV series.

Partially wrong. Andrew Jackson is me. Although I don't recall ever being a president...
