I'm not sure how to do that, even after several trials. Could someone else have a try please? Thanks.

I know this isnt the best and it still needs work but this is a somewhat idea i have and worked on a bit. shading still needs around the rings of the piece and other pieces along with editing the shading already done.
feel free to edit.

About your shading. It appears as though the light source is too close to the object.
I like the animation but I wish the pawn was something more original and I don't mean copy and paste the player-sprite on a platform as I saw previously. Although it was a thought.

This is above my skill level, but it is an opportunity to improve.
No one else interested?

I'm not nearly as skilled as Dude, so if he plans on coming back, he should do so.
Until then, let's move on.

Keep in mind that MMO players interpret the world around them
in terms of things being dumb. "drowned baby", "marshmallow man".

If you don't want my efforts, take up Dude's work before I do or beg him to
come back immediately.

I'd rather work on something more long-term like playerset equipment.

I decided to put this project on hold until someone produces proper monster sprites. The tileset is already far enough that maps with it could be created, but it lacks accessories, so the maps will look a bit boring.

Here are the tileset and the Gimp XCF file so far, in case someone wants to continue.

i basic idea and shape of the sprites are "good"(needs little idea work). as far as king and queen i like the " 1/2 and 1/2" look, personally. i think the movement ideas shown in the gif of the pawn is a good place to think of then biulding the other mobs. (i can pixel for now >.<)

the map is great and would love to see it being used.

thats what i think--skipy

The lion looks like it was downscaled from a larger image. Do you have the image rights? TMW treats copyright very seriously.

The chair has a problem with the perspective. TMW uses an orthogonal perspective. That means no perspective shortening.
