Newbie help

Hi there, I'm new to The Mana World. I recently started just yesterday and have a few questions.

1) Is there a death penalty?
2) How do I get more skills?
3) When looking for Red Stingers do I need to look for them on some type of Red Scorpion or any regular Scorpion?
4) Is there a friends list?

2. fight and earn job lvls
3. kill red scorpions .. they drop red stingers which you can pickup pressing g

1) Not yet.
2) You can sell your soul, but read the npc text carefully!
3) You have to look for a red scorpian. It's outside the desert.
4) Yes, but it isnt activated.

Okay thanks for the help. I've got another question now. Can you fish in this game or mine or something of that sort, oh and exactly where is the desert?

No resource gathering yet but I guess we'll add this later (read: in a couple of months).

The desert is below the town, just walk out the lower gate.
