why gm's sit in town

i thought i would add this post in reguards to a post that "i am not you" made in Narus for GM's forum.

Narus i post here so not to detract from your GM bid.

He/she made comment to the fact that we do not need another new GM , that just sits in town!

There is a reason that Gm's sit in Hurnscald. Where would you have them sit or stand.
its the busiest place, with the most exposure. It allows easy access to them. If there are
problems we all know where they will be, and if they are logged on.

Its very easy to be a nay sayer, its even harder to be productive! Thanks for taking the easy way out and hiding behind your name! Good on you (coward)!

and while I am speaking out, I will once again thank the GM team for doing there very best in making this game, the game that is. You have my respect!

Thanks for your consideration to put this in player talk. and I agree, sometimes people think that if GM are sitting in town they are doing nothing. Most of the time they sit there where we can see them and talk to them if is necesary. And lets face it, GM are real person with real ocupations and sometimes they need to be AFK like everyone of us.
I completly agree with you.
Regards and thank you again. :)

So while waiting for that @wgm they might as well wait some place where they can chill and try to have a lil' fun themselves instead of hiding off in some dark corner.
i see you dont read the gm log at all, do you?

Cappy is on a personal crusade right now.

Openly calling people bots, with out a ounce of proof. Attacking players over and over again. And punishing anyone that reveals his true nature.

Just do a find for the words bot in the last months log. My Oh My

GM's have recently been returned the powers of invisibility and player jumping, so that we can take a more proactive approach to bot checks.

The reason you see so many references to people being possible bots in the GM Logs, is because they are logs of our actions, when I (or any other GM that see's the need) witness a player acting suspiciously, we have the ability to post public or private messages to the logs.

Not all of the messages in the logs went to public chat!

These logs serve as a record of our actions and our observations for future reference.

Cappy =)

The increased suspicion of the game masters regarding bots is justified.

There is a recent rise of programmed bots which are much more complex than the previous "weight down two keys" bots and use various techniques to hide from game masters. This makes the job of our game masters considerably more difficult.

So when does this lead to him catching anyone? Tiana has done more and yet doesnt seem to label players.

You publicly accused patches of being a bot in town, after he passed botcheck.

You are saying people are bot after they past your bot check.

Your job is not to accuse people of being bots, your job is to prove they are bots. That is as simple as it gets.

If you think someone is a bot, then prove it. Do not, however accuse the group that took a picture of you telling the community to $#%^ off, bots.

You understands? Patches caught you telling the community to !$#% off. Now you are attacking the members of his party and him publicly!

Everyone you called a bot so far is associated with patches.

Patches nailed you to the wall and now you are using your power not to prove their bots but discredit them because they show everyone, you do not really care for the people nor your position in the mana world.

Show me where it says you have the right to accuse anyone of being anything.

They only right you have is to prove they are.

If they are programmed bots. Then get some developers together and study them. And find away to prove it.

But when someone answers you, you do not have the right to do a personal crusade, because you no longer care for the community.

I agree, found one of these guys yesterday. But the he is to prove they are bot, not accuse them of being bots.

Prove not accuse.

Given his gifted position, he accuses with out warrant or merit.

All I am asking is that he has a motive to discredit them. And he is using his power to do so.

With no checks, power is out of control.

Tiana did a botcheck last night, and guess what, She did not say anyone was a bot in the log.

I know there is a hide forum on this website for gms, why cant they post it there?

Why does he have to make a public post? The only reason to make it public, is to make sure they people are punish for proving he is a jerk and hates the community.

the question is
"why gm's sit in town ? "

did you where they're siting , somewhere else?
this silly question where there are people
So where there is the more people it is ..... there where they respawn
the town where there is the soul menhir
and where there is more people by now .... "hurcald"
So it is normal in the second town

where there is Zelda? hyrule

Thanks!
When I sit in town, I have at least six different whispering tabs. Well, sometimes I'm afk, but not because I think this does make any sense, but because I needed to do something else and have forgotten about shutting down the client. Well, normally I am handling many different cases of complaints, questions and reports while hanging around.

And: I don't get all those requests, complaints and questions when "hugoing" or being invisible...or just being somewhere in the desert. Well, it's a nice idea to do this - at least for the GMs themselves - since it will be so much less stressful, but what sense does this make to the community? ;)

I think its important for Gms to hang around town. For one reason it adds to the community and makes the Gms more approachable and we as players can get to know them. Also while dealing with complaints they might as well have a little township fun :D (every body dress up as santa clause etc). Also from what i have seen Gms do sit in town but they always dash off over one problem or another if its a quiet day, let them have a break :D they are there to help keep the game fun and free of BOTS so the way that the Gms feel that they can do this the best, should be up to them.
