hi everyone....i'm new at this forum and in the game, i have applied the patch 4144 for linux, i have ubuntu 9.10 but the problem is that when i open the game the background of the texts windows looks with pink lines so i can't read anything

i saw in the menu options for the back ground and it is in white, even if i change the colour it seem like the pink lines are over the background colour...anyone can help me with this???

Try disable or enable opengl.
If it not help, try compile from sources Mana client without patches, and with patches, may be some version will work without pink lines.

What linux version you using?

You can also try the Windows nightlies with wine.

I cant use opengl cause i have a mother asrock k7vm2 and even in windows there's a driver for the vga in linux there's none...I look everywhere and I can't find anyway to use it...

Then disable OpenGL.

I have it disable, if not I can't even play

i don't know why but now if I enable the opengl like you said i can play and it looks well, so thanks you so much but I don't know why I can play jjejeje
