I think the original looks better.

What did you change beside changing the brightness and removing the cloud?

Hi ForsTr,

About both mushrooms:
I really like the eyes of new one, much scarier :)
Also, the third one for each is the better, as the shading and the colors chosen are indeed great, in my noob opinion.

About the pinky thingie:
The fourth one seems to the best, again in my noob opinion.

Best regards.

Hi FrosTr,

They seem really nice! ;)

Could you using transparent background png?

Any artist giving a review? These ones sound promising.

Best regards.

Some of you know I've been ninja-ing a few fixes or replacements for the eA content to improve their candidacy for CR's... mainly for the monster sprites...

This isn't to say these are necessarily the best they can be, or a request for direct feedback, everything has room for improvement...

Here's a quick run down of the changes, either currently in the eA game or not...

Flower
Image
Changes
  • Removed redundant "checkerboard frame"
  • Fixed over saturation of stem and added a nominal amount of texture
  • Made floral section of sprite dyable
Comments
IMO, this flower is a good candidate for full replacement, as it's not fully in perspective and was created with emphasis on diagonals, and only has attack frames using two diagonals which are reused for 2 directions each (not necessarily a bad trick, but we have a consistency issue on how this is handled IMO).

Slimes
Main Sprite Sheet
Image
Rudolph accessory
Image
Santa accessory
Image
Sea Jelly accessory
Image
Changes
  • Removed redundant frames
  • Replaced incorrect lighting on Right directional frames
  • Stripped accessories from holiday slimes and deleted redundant sheets to keep them all slimes on a consistent base.
  • Made some saturation and texture fixes to the accessory sheets
Comments
The slime currently has the same diagonal frame attack situation just like the flowers... an additional down and up attack frames would be recommend, however the "diagonal ones" are easily percieved as right and left attack frames and don't necessarily need to be replaced. I added the sea jelly simply to differentiate the sea slime from "colored" slimes, but I admit it's not perfect, all of the accessories could stand a few additional frames either for ambiance or to ween them from using diagonals exclusively.

Spider
Image
Comments
Yes... I replaced the spider... but not without guilt, the original was made by a young Lindeijer after all :( . This thing is dyeable, roughly the size of the scorpion, perspective correct. Yes the Right directional frames are mirrored, I have a fix for that still to commit.

I have other fixes and sheet consolidations that I haven't committed yet, but I'll gather them up and post them to ease the improvement process, and all the sources to post in the art repo in case anyone finds them helpful.

Hi Fother,

That is excellent work and I trust all your conclusions. I have nothing more to say.
I'm eager to see the next commit ;)

Best Regards.
