Howdy from a new player

Post by ColonelForbin »

Hello people. I am a new player - just had a few questions. 1. Where is world/server chat if it exists? 2. What's up w/ selling items? It seems a lot of monster drops are worth a lot - but where can I go to find people to sell these to and is there a list with going rates somewhere?
<p>This game is pretty cool so far - I'm just grinding away.

One more - Is there a penalty for death in this game?

nope, there isn't anything like world/server chat.
Which kind of items do you mean? Items like maggot slime you best sell to a npc.
And no, there is currently no death penalty.

Yeah, like maggot slime and bug legs - but also snake skin and tongues - I was suprised to see that snake skin sells for so much.

and - What jobs are there in game?

Since the game is in an early stage of development - indeed, this isn't even the final server - fighting is pretty much the only thing you can do as yet. Ways of making money vary, exactly as different types of monster vary. Basically, it's a choice of Kill This Monster or Kill That Monster.

I'd recommend killing bats or collecting herbs until level forty or so. Bats drop items which can be sold to shop NPCs for 100 - 150gp, and they help you level at the same time. Herb plants drop herbs, and these can be sold to other players for 100 - 200gp, but they won't level you.

After level forty I'd probably kill Red Slimes, which drop various items for sale to NPCs, but I've never really made money in this game. I use it as a chat room, really :P .

Awesome - thanks for the advice. I'm almost lvl 40 - where can I find these red slimes?

and stats question - str 35 agi 22 vit 16 int 3 dex 33 luck 10 - I'm just a warrior class - what should be my stats be like at level 36?

I'm a mage myself, and don't know exactly how a warrior should be at level 36, but I'd say a lot more dex. The other stuff seems okay - if you got a stat reset (which would cost 3,600gp at your level) and put your dex to around 20, then your other stats up to almost what they were before, it should be okay. But I'd ask a warrior, too :) .

As for the Red Slimes, have you been to the forest yet? The forest town, Hurnscald, as roads leading out of it to the South, West, North and East. Take the North road and follow it until you enter a cave. Take the first path on the right, and you should find the slimes.

Nice - I'll check it out - I've been collecting these present boxes for awhile - that'll be a good break. Thanks again for the help!

If you are a warrior and are reading this, please give me some stat advice :D
