A very important rule for the GM suggestions

Hi all, I think that this important rule isn't very abided:
18. If you don't know a person suggested, it is better to find out who is s/he and what they do before voting, do not vote "no" just because you don't know someone.
All players that don't know a person or other unknowns motives vote "no" and it isn't right because all people have rights of become a GM.
Please respect people and vote "no" only for a real motivations, thank you =)

I do not understand?

You feel that people Vote no because they do not know that person?

I have voted in most of the polls.

I know most the people and voted the why I feel about them.

I think they're referring to the large number of comments that say (basically) "I don't know this person, so I voted no.".

I will have to look again. Because I do not see that there.

I've said "that don't know a person or other unknowns motives".
A X player vote no: He have a reason ? He can write it ! He's too lazy ?
he don't have a reason ? Or want another person for GM but haven't a reason for vote no in this poll ? do not vote, it isn't a obligation...
Vote "no" only for a real reason please, is very difficult to pass the poll: too many "no" ! And now... don't make too many "yes", we don't wish a "All GM Server" =P
Thank you,
WildX

Ok, you know what you are going to hate about me? I will tell you the truth. Because personally, I really dont give a ....oh well

You seem to be trying to push immotev and billr.

I voted NO on one of them. Let me explain. I did not leave a commit because, people in this game have a tendency to take this a little personal. Really they do. If I told the truth all they would do is just attack me, both in the game and on the forums. These attack would be both direct and indirect. Chances are immotev and billr would stop talking to me. Everyone that likes him would start to look down on me. They would take an unfavorable stance in all I do.

So in the end, if I tell you why, you can then use that to ostracize me.

But let me tell you why I voted no.

Immotev is easy answer.
Immotev wrote:Last month, for example, I've been controlling for bots(killing them at gy/taking screenshots.. hihi), didn't said a bad word to anyone including after things directly for me like "**** you",
He directly admits to kill people in the graveyard that "he veiw's" as "bots". They could be just people lost in whispers or people that do not feel like they have to talk to a person that is trying to kill them. He admits that they curse at him, proving they where not bots. No where in the rules does it say, you have to hunt out bots and attack them.

In fact no where does it say you have to report them.

This behavior is not really friendly, and proves that if he was elected gm, he would search and destroy. I do not think we need someone terrorizing people. Hand itching to swing the ban hammer just looking for a "bot".

Now about billr.

You have to be a certain type of person to be a gm. I do not think billr should have to take the childish and mean things that are said about gm's. I personally think he is a nice guy and when I think of the type of person that is gm he does not fit the what I think is gm.

But with billr I did not vote at all. I personally feel he would be too nice and to complacent.

He quotes washington in this post. Washington repeatly said that there is not worthless of position in the world then that of the presidency of the united states. Because all he did was sit there doing nothing.

You wanted an honest reason.

I gave it. Let the repercussions begin.

posted my reasons, why i voted no on Immotev and Billr, in their polls.

Anyway.
I think if everyone who votes also posts a reason for why he/she voted that, the polls would be full of 50 times the same reasons.
People who really vote no because they don't know the player, most likely are those who just look at the name and read the first 2 or 3 posts in the poll. If that does not look good, there is a "no".

As for me, I am not a "no voter" all the time. I also gave "yes" a few times.
It is not, if someone is nice, or if I like that person. It is more like "can i imagine this person to act fair? can i imagine that person in charge with a ban and a kick command? can i imagine this person dealing with complaints, whispers, stupid behavior?"
Not all nice people should be GMs and not all rude people would be bad GMs.

I won't say that most people do vote no due to not knowing someone, but I will also say this: While some will typically get offended when they hear not-so-positive things about them, at the same time it could help if people saw fit to give a reason why that person doesn't qualify, both so they know why people vote no, and so that they might improve said character flaw :P.
