PVP tournaments don't really work when players hold them, because people can interfere and the structure/rules can be hard to enforce. A gm would be able to warp people in and out of a map like the bot check area, and provide a more structured event.

I've been advocating for an npc script controlled ELO ladder system. Not impossible to pull off and would be fun and promote a healthy competitive culture.

No one has been interested in implementing so far.

Well, not entirely true. I said I'd love to do it but didn't know how. And also that I would try to figure it out. Scripting, however, confuses me, so I don't know if I'll be able to do it. I'd need to ask a lot of questions as I went along.

I'm mostly available on IRC and I have a rather good reason to support the development of such a system.
