Totally agrees. I just refuse this kind of trades

However, that's not new.
They know the price and want you to say a higher price.

And if you are dumber than the dumb seller, you say a higher price...

Good point Mrwho! It is interesting that I never got to complete a trade when the other player asked for an offer... even when I tried, it is never good enough.

MrWho wrote:I'm going to tell you about the dumbest way to trade with people, here is an example of something that happened in town:

Someone is selling an item, a pair of rabbit ears (for example):

DumbSeller: I sell rabbit ears
MrWho: I buy

Now that he knows I want to buy them, I go on private whisper with him to negotiate the price:

MrWho: How much for them?
DumbSeller: Offer

Now wtf is that?? Offer?? When someone sells stuff they usually have a price range in mind. If you go into a store, you usually see prices, the store person doesn't ask you to offer a sum for any item. So now i'm thinking of a price, since the dumbseller said : Offer.

MrWho: Ok, I offer 1gp
DumbSeller: hahahah, no
MrWho: well how much you F***ing want?? Name your price
DumbSeller: offer more
MrWho: '-.-
Mrwho: 500k??
DumbSeller: no thnx

In my opinion this is the most retarded way to sell something. If you want to sell rabbit ears or any rare, you should say a price. I can't read minds and know how much a person wants for something.

Couldn't agree more. My reply to this is "your store your price". If they can't name a price to start, i just move on.

I agree with you who! It kinda tics me off sometimes!
if someone sells something they must have a price to go with it or a certain amount in their heads that they want for the item. if they say offer well hell how are we suppose to know the price range in their heads????

In another MMO where I did a lot of trading I used to have a text prepared in the clipboard for this purpose.

"Ok let's cut this short. I ask how much you want, you say offer, i say something ridiculously low and you tell me your real price. So how much is it?"

Usually worked in getting people to say a reasonable price.

You might have heard a certain rumor about me. This rumor is completely false. You might also have heard the other rumor about me. This rumor is 100% accurate.

You can also say an incredibly high amount of GP, like 10 million, get the player to believe he is finally going to be rich with the "offer" thing, and just make him wait, never completing the trade.
