thats ridiculous. Anyone of importance in my life has my cell number and one of two email addresses, depending on importance of the person. Social networking sites are fine, but official lines of communication? What happens if facebook goes down? All work stops? Thats silly.

You mean my name and any possible permutation of it which could be identified as me? And thus make it impossible for anyone with the same name to use facebook?

When someone wants to impersonate me online there is, sadly, not much I can do to prevent it. There are more ways than just the countless social networks. Blogs, private homepages...

All I can do is to avoid giving people any critical private information which could be used to impersonate me believeably. Like not posing it all over the net on social networks.

Facebook is just creepy... I got an invitation by someone. And in this very invitation there were suggestions of people I might know!!! HTF?! They linked me to three different people I actually knew. One of them was...one of the tmw devs. Don't remember who it was. And I only recognised the picture. I didn't even know his real name. And all they had was my email address, because the guy inviting me knew it. I did not even have his email address...And I doubt I ever wrote a PM to him on the forums...well...and I don't know how they knew I know the other two. They didn't even have a connection with each other either.

Well, I have been registered on facebook once. but only for a very short while. And I didn't even have those three people in my contacts then...


I'd be very careful...
