Dark Water to be GM

I wanted to see if we could agree on another great GM before jumping in again. Since I truly think we need another person on at times other than Tiana or Narus, i want Dark Water to be GM.

Plus thoughs;
Played over a year.
I've seen others try to argue with her and never seen her as anthing other than calm and willing to listen.
Has a true love of this game and the people in it.
Has been a GM in other games.
She is a level 99 player and so has knowledge and understanding of the game.

She's logical and nice to talk with.

She is a good player and a good person.

So no objections, Dark Water for GM.

Regards,

Alons

I would like to see her like GM. She trusts in what she say, and say only that trusts.

I voted yes... DarkWater is a good player, she's a very helpfull person, and I never saw her disrespecting the rules... I'm sure that she'll help the players and the game as she can.

I think she'll be a great GM, and of course i hope that, because i trust her.

It's my opinion. ^^

I would like to thank everyone for their kind words. I was kind of surprised to see my name come up.

I have fought for the right of the community to hold GM elections. I am happy the the community gets to decide.
I will state this. I understand why people will vote against me. I harbor no ill feelings, if they should decide to vote no. It is their right to. Please feel free to state why you disagree with me being gm, in order to know how to bring us closer together.

I need to know where I have gone wrong.

I will also state that my goal, regardless of the out come of the poll, will not change. I will always strive to bridge the gap between the group holding power and the community that loves this game. To make an effort to prevent the easter events type problems.

As I have always said, all we need to do is continue to talk. Regardless of how is poll turns out or if the group holding power accepts me as a suitable junior gm, I will always serve the community that we all love.

And please rest assure that regardless of what they choose to call me, I will always act in the best interest of the community, not the group holding power. My goal if elected gm will to be to bridge the gap between them and you. To stop the fragmentation of this community. To bring everyone, the players, devs, and admins, closer together and open of the lines of the communication.

We have a wonderful world here. I will do everything to make it better. I give you my word on that.

I never voted "NO" in this forum. And always cast a well judged vote (hopefully).

huh? think i mixed something up

edit: no didn't

ok i voted no.

here my only reason and i think it is very important.

DarkWater has about the same online times as Narus.
The problem is, that most of the day no GM is online. Would DarkWater be GM the problem would still exist. We'd have two active GMs (I think DarkWater would be more active then some other GMs) and both would be online at the same time... Wouldn't help that problem very much.

Other than that I see only one small thing but I think that is not so bad. I know DarkWater as someone who likes discussing things long, but as GM sometimes there is simply no discussion but acting. For example (because I saw that often) a spammer is spamming for a long time and finally a GM shows up. In that case it would be DarkWater. How long / how often would you tell that guy to stop spamming before acting?

If it is true that DarkWater used to be GM in another game it would of course be an advantage.
Also I never saw her breaking the rules.

cu ingame Leela

PS: other no-voters should state a reason too

Please, I would really love to hear why you voted no. Your voice and reason soo mainstream. If you have a valid reason to vote against me, then I would like the chance to change it. Please pm me.

To leela.

I respect your opinion but disagree with it. Most of the time I am on, there is no gm's on.

We have had problems in the past, and I understand why you voted no.

It needs to be clear that I will not go along with everyone else. If I think there is a problem, I will speak out. I will not remain silent.

If you want a gm that will just quietly go with things. I am not your person.

But if the community wants a gm that will always be on their side. I have and always well, be on your side.

Sorry, but I voted NO. I really do like you, DarkWater, but here is my reason:

All past GMs with (different) high ambitions have failed (in different ways) and are no longer GMs. And you seem do have high ambitions - which is not a bad thing as such. But they don't work out. Maybe nobody would fire you because you did a good job as a GM (hypothetically), but I do think you will leave of your own accord at one point.

...well...I have been at the point of quitting several times...but I have never made promises. I just have my principles which made me think about resigning and openly state that I hate the system.

But you should never ever make promises. All you can do as a GM is be a nice and respectable GM and do your job, which is to enforce the rules, and maybe hold a few events from time to time...well...blah....

...I simply do think your ambitions are too high. Period.

Sorry, DarkWater.

Sorry, I am lost, what ambitions? Why I should be compared to other people? I have no idea what are you are saying. I have one goal.

To bring the admins, dev, and community closer together. To open the lines of communication. If that is too ambitious, I am sorry, maybe I should not be a gm. Maybe I should not be a player. Maybe nobody should.

WE have a huge mis-communication problem in this game. And we are not going to solve it until someone tries. You have the right to vote no, and I respect that.

But to say, since people have tried before and failed, we are not going to let you try, that is...just sad. I do not need to be a gm to bring the community closer. BUT the community needs someone to try. And if the people on this server are tired of trying, then I hate to say it, then all hope is lost.

It is ok katze, no hard feelings. The most important thing I have learned in life is, love and time can change the world.

Love and time.

Hugs, thank you for your honesty. I respect you for that.

Dark water.

Well...I do have to agree with Katze. Ambition isn't necessarily a good thing for a GM....but...you never know, it could help things. Depending on how you do the things you want to do. I can say not to have high hopes for closing the gaps though. If you want to be a GM then start out small and if you still feel like you can help to close the gap try it in small steps. I voted yes of course. ^_^ From the time I've known Dark Water she's a very helpful and considerate player, both of which are few and far in-between. So best of luck.
