Hello, I'm interested in map making for the TMW. Where can I get map editor, etc. so could I start?

NOTE: Editor should run on Linux, because I using this OS.

NOTE: Darkhog should use search feature.

If you are interested in mapping you can use Tiled

Through my browsing I've come to this, and I think I might give this a shot. Thanks for posting those links.

We appreciate the initiative, but mapping is the only area of development where the supply with skilled people outweights the demand.

When you really want to help you would be better off when you would acquire a different skill.

IMO you highly underestimate the skill required to pull of a really great map. I don't pretend to be perfect at it, but the atmosphere of the map can be changed considerably with just a different placement of tiles.

Also - though again IMO - a lot of the maps in-game at present are of a poor quality. Knowing how to use Tiled does not equate to being a good mapper.

Retouching existing maps is never out of the question. Just start the fixing from the tilesets.
