I wanted to ask something... if it was possible to make a video of TMW (like publicity) to make this game more famous...
i dont know if you understand me... but for me it's a good idea !

In simple my idea is : - make a video (publicity) = TMW famous ^^

I'm just asking because i really dont know if it's allowed to make publicity on this game...

Please no. Publicity would mean commoners ridiculing it as though it were a commercial game. The inevitable response is "Ew! they need to do this," and "Ew! they need to do that".

TMW as a game alone, not a project, in its present state might serve as enough entertainment to keep a few Africans from contracting HIV out of sheer boredom while starving in front of some second-hand or stolen spam computer it manages to run on.

The right target audience for now would be the FSF and OSI fans who are really only divided about text editors.
Places like freshmeat and the FSF's software database that offer aggregation of news from such projects as this would be the right mediums of publicity for attracting technical hobbyists.

Though TMW only covers the data aspect of the game, not the compiled code. There's still scripting and markup. Graphics and sound developers who are capable of relaxing their ego enough to make free data are most wanted here. (IMO.)

So what's the problem with that? Do we really need to worry about idiots talking behind our back? Honest critique is something you should never be afraid of. Maybe it shows real flaws we weren't even aware of although they are inside our capabilities to fix.

Also: Except for good publicity there is nothing better than bad publicity. When people talk about us, people will get interested in us. When people get interested in us, new users will come. New users mean more potential contributors. And even when people laugh at TMW and talk about how much it sucks, there will be quiet people who will see that it is an open source project where they can participate and help to make it stop sucking.

But from a view, did you saw themanaworld's playersmovie on youtube? They just show 'how to use this bug' 'see this bad tileset' 'see how that suck' maybe we need some people like scorpion to do a better view of themanaworld? If she use our tileset, graphics and gameplay, she can only show the truth from themanaworld.

After, if you want to hide that all suck, or that all is good, its your choise.
