Aurora Society Event issues

Hi all,

We had an issue with our scheduled event earlier this afternoon and I thought it would be appropriate to address some of the concerns we heard. Some people, most notably Sugar's mule and medave, advised us that they opted not to participate in the event because there was no point; bots would just win anyway. It seems that quite a few followed their example.

To address this concern, there are several things that you should know about the Aurora Society events:
  • We are always willing and happy to listen to feedback (either in-game or on the forum), provided you have justification for your view. Complaining because you didn't win something is not something we consider as feedback.
  • In events where we are awarding a prize, or multiple prizes, we will have several guild members participating and watching for abusers. Anyone we catch attempting to circumvent the rules we set down at the beginning of an event is disqualified from winning.
  • We will not run or sponsor events that condone, encourage, or reward activity that is against the defined game rules, including botting.
  • We are holding these weekly events as a way to encourage players to participate in the game community, and ultimately to offer another way to have some fun.
We do understand that many are concerned about various abuses in game, but please don't spoil a player-run event for others just because you are afraid of losing to a cheater. Instead, why not participate and make the cheaters have to work for it! And most importantly, have some fun...after all, it is a GAME. :D
